Blending outdoor durability with a slender build is the Standard Lightweight Rooftop Tent by Inspired Overland.
Boasting a stand-out yet streamlined design, its gas strut-assisted opening of a PVC softshell lid frame has it both fast to setup and quick to pack down. Its tough 2000D waterproof Polyester Oxford main fabric is UV-protected to prevent damage from harsh Aussie summers – heat-sealed and double-stitched for ultimate strength and butt-kicking durability – while the included rainfly withstands the wetter weather. Plus, three exterior entry points from both the side and the rear of the tent ensure easy access, where high-density tulle windows offer breathability from the hot nights to the hazy mornings.
With an included 3.8 cm foam mattress and anti-condensation pad too for comfort and convenience, the large built-in storage pockets keep the hiking kicks intact while the two additional smaller pockets keep the knick-knacks, electronics, and portable gadgets tucked away. Hit new heights with the included telescopic ladder with adjustable raises too – plus, an aluminium mounting base with two T-slot mounting tracks and stainless steel mounting brackets allowing fitment to various roof rails, offering true versatility on every outdoor adventure.

Staff tip:We're sorry, but our stores don't have the facilities to install rooftop tents.
Staff tip:You'll need to confirm the suitability of your vehicle and roof rack to be able to install and use this RTT. Check the transport/carton details above to make sure you have the capacity to transport the packaged product before you pick it up.
Interested to know suitablilty for use on the cab roof racks of a dual cab ute (e.g. Hilux). Any experiences appreciated.
Mick - Burnside, SA (5 days ago)
G'day Mick,
Are you wanting to mount it to the roof of the dual cab Hilux or do you have tub racks?
If you have roof racks they would need to be 80cm apart or more. The tent measures over 2m in length and it's not safe if it overhangs over the front window of your vehicle due to the wind, so it would need to be flush with the front window, but also not overhanging the tray by too much as you'd want to mount the roof rails evenly to distrube the weight.

Suitable roof racks/bars1 answer
Hi, we have rhino vortex 2500 bars on ford ranger and prorack on VW Touareg, they both have roughly 800mm between bars. Can either standard or XL model be installed on such roof bars. We'll be purchasing either model due to light weight but need to make sure we can fit them. Thanks, John
John - Canberra, ACT (1 week ago)
G'day John,
80cm is the minimum for roof top tent mounts, you realistically can't go narrower than that. Based on the measurements, assuming you're centering the tent when you mount it, you'll have 75cm length off either end for the XL model, and 64cm for the standard.

Optional inflatable mattress1 answer
Are there inflatable mattresses that fit these models, replacing the existing top foam mattress (keeping the dense bottom foam & anti-condensation mat)?
Shane - Brisbane, QLD(4 months ago)
G'day Shane,
The dimensions of the Standard rooftop tent dont line up with any existing self inflating mats. The closest that will fit is the Exped DeepSleep Mat Duo 7.5 M, but you'll loose some of the width. It will need to be removed for pack up though, generally self inflating mat brand warranty does cover use in a roof top tent.

Total weight1 answer
Weights stated incl the ladder?
Shane - Brisbane, QLD(4 months ago)
G'day Shane,
The ladder will need to be packed seperately in your car or trailer, so the weight specified is just for the tent. The weight of the ladder is just under 9Kg.

Are they coming with even lighter models in future?1 answer
Heard there might be single sleeper models coming out from these guys. Have you got any news on this or other even lighter options in future? Also is the listed weight including the ladder?
Morgan - Greystanes, NSW(5 months ago)
G'day Morgan,
Our Rooftop tent companies are always coming up with innovations and new products, we currently don't have any news about single sleepers or other lighter options but I'm sure we'll make it known once we do. Keep an eye out!
The listed weight also includes the ladder.
