Here's a bit of trivia for you - the name Hema comes from the first two letters of each of founders Henry and Margaret Boegheim's first names. they opened their doors in 1983 distributing and selling maps and marine charts. But it wasn't until 1989 that they purchased their first 4WD.
From there they took on the Simpson Desert, Gunbarrel Highway and Cape York, following which Henry said: "It gets in your blood". The Hema 4WD maps you see today were born from the need for good quality maps in remote locations. Henry and Margaret invested in new GPS technology and started field checking maps.
Nowadays the Hema Map Patrol travels the country to ensure the maps you buy have all the latest and most accurate information for every location in our country. Hema produces both paper and digital maps to suit every user need, Hema maps can be found helping adventurers find their way across the country both on and off the beaten track.
