When you’re a total newbie to the outdoors, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. What you need is something that’s simple, lightweight and easy-to-use right? The OZtrail Tasman 3V is the tent that has all the features necessary for all you entry-level campers out there.
The Tasman 3V Dome Tent is ideal for warmer climates, as it's super breathable polyester inner will provide plenty of airflow on a balmy summer night. You won’t have to worry about stumbling over in the dark when nature calls, as the doors on the Tasman are a user-friendly D shape.
The cross pole configuration makes the Tasman easier to set up and will help prevent water from pooling on the fly. The fly has been treated with a silver coating which will reflect the heat while also adding an extra element of protection in adverse weather. You can illuminate your tent at night by attaching an optional light to the lantern hook inside, and you can keep your valuables from being trodden on thanks to the handy organiser pockets. For festival-goers, first-time campers and the like the OZtrail Tasman 3V is a great option.
Hi, I am after replacement poles for this tent, what size mm would I require?
James - Richmond(4 years ago)
G'day James,
I've just checked out the pole size with the trusty calipers we have here, and you'd be looking at the Oztrail Duraplus Pole Kit in the 8.5mm size. Hope that helps!

Colour? 1 answer
Is the colour the same as what's in the picture included? Khaki green and a forest green? I have seen some versions that look cream and blue or cream and green etc. Just checking?
Jane - Williamstown, Vic(4 years ago)
G'day Jane,
The official colour description that Oztrail provides is Light Grey / Blue, however to me it looks to be a stone grey/cream, with a teal blue/green. I guess it depends on your monitor settings, and visual interpretation, however, I wouldn't call the darker colour forest green.

Awning poles included? Confused1 answer
Hi. Can u tell me when you say the "awning poles" not included, do you mean 2x straight poles to be able to extend a flat roof verandah out over the top of the middle of the entrance OR do you mean the actual curved pole in the picture that slides into the fly sleeve horizontally through the top of the front awning area above the door. I originally assumed you meant the 2nd option but when I look at the "awning poles"that you are selling seperately they look like straight poles for a verandah?? I just want to confirm that the basic tent you are selling does come with the 2 main tent curved crossover poles PLUS 1 curved horizontal pole you slide into the top of the fly awning at the front. Hope that makes sense.
Jane - Williamstown, Vic(4 years ago)
G'day Jane,
Apologies for the confusion there. The tent comes with the two rear poles that cross, plus the front curved pole. The awning poles that are not included are straight poles that can be used to pitch out the front of the tent to sit underneath.

Waterproofing 1 answer
Just enquiring how waterproof is this tent? Can it handle some rain?
Kristyn - Morningside (5 years ago)
G'day Kristyn,
Oztrail doesn't specify waterhead ratings for their tents, but the Tasman 3V Dome Tent should be able to handle light rain.

As a first timer, planning a trip to alpine regions (campgrounds not in the wild), would this tent be appropriate? Wind and rain tolerant? I am solo and want easy pitch, but also the right tent under $200.1 answer
I have a Malamoo 3 p pop up but it is a tragicomedy of sorts when packing down! Twenty minutes in rain with YouTube video ... so I wanted a done tent, spacious for one with photographic gear, easy to pitch. I like airflow, and views. Weather permitting. Flinders and alpine or Grampians trips. Budget around $200. First time camper. Solo. Small car. Suggestions?
Fiona - Goolwa(6 years ago)
G'day Fiona,
Thanks for getting in touch. The Tasman 3V might not be the best option for Alpine camping, the inner on these tents is all mesh so it will be very cold in these conditions. We would generally rate these as a Spring/Summer type tent. You would be much better looking at something like the Black Wolf Classic 3 , Coleman Traveller 3P or Outdoor Connection Escape 3 Plus. These models are all solid inner fabrics, or part solid and part mesh. They all have a similar setup design so shouldn't take too much time or effort to pitch.

Can fly be rolled back?1 answer
Can the the fly be rolled back like on the skygazer so only half the tent is covered leaving the other half exposed to view the stars?
Jordan Kettle - Mentone(6 years ago)
G'day Jordan,
The rainfly on the Oztrail Tasman 3V doesn't roll back like the Oztrail Skygazer 3XV. It does have nice big windows which are a good compromise!

How about Oztrail Tasman 4V Plus?1 answer
Would this be a better option for my Coleman High Rise Queen Airbed? In regard to Coleman Sundome 4 Person tent, I am not sure it will withstand rain as there is not waterproof rating.
Roy - Mansfield, Qld(6 years ago)
G'day Roy,
I don't reckon there's going to quite be enough room inside the Oztrail 3V Dome Tent for your double high queen airbed, I'm sorry to say.

Can I fit Coleman Quick Bed HIgh Rise Queen Airbed in this tent?1 answer
What other alternative would you recommend, to fit my airbed?
Roy - Mansfield(6 years ago)
G'day Roy,
Unfortunately, I reckon the Oztrail Tasman 3V Dome Tent might be a touch to small for your airbed. If you were looking something in the same budget range that will fit, can I suggest the Coleman Sundome 4 Person Dome Tent?
