Temperature rating of the shunt for under the bonnet mounting?
G'day Jim,
I have called Hard Korr to confirm and this isn't recommended for mounting under the bonnet as it's not waterproof. The operating temperature range is -20°C to 50°C, they advised you can get away with using this if it is in a sealed box but otherwise you may damage the device.
How is the monitor mounted
There is a bracket included, Sev, and directions in the user manual. Basically you need to drill a 54.5mm hole, slip the monitor through then secure the backet on the back.
How would this be wired up with a Hardkorr battery in a Hardkorr battery box.
G'day Adrian,
If you jump back onto the product page on the Snowys website, you'll find below the specifications section and above the product reviews, a PDF file with full installation and operation instructions.
This should provide you with all the info you need for installation, and what resources you'll need if not supplied.
Could you possibly tell me how long the supplied shielded cable is please? Need to see if it will reach the rear of my car
G'day Chris,
We've just measured the cable and its 2m in total. The little terminal clips of either end are about 13mm deep, so the physical cable length is more like 197.5m.
Hope that helps!
Does this product have any IP Rating? I intend on mounting it in the tub of my ute, under a soft tonneau, and need to know if it has any IP Rating? Thanks.
G'day Alex,
Just jumped off the phone with Hard Korr on this one, and they've said that theres no IP rating on the remote battery monitor.
It needs to be installed out of the weather, where it cant gets rained on. Perhaps you can install it on the front wall behind the cab, and get a little mini cap over it, like some outdoor powerpoints? I'm pretty sure there are things like this available through Jaycar.
