what is the 240v power start up for a mt_v45f engel fridge
Anne - Warnbro, WA (8 months ago)
G'day Anne,
This fridge draws a maximum of 2.6A according to Engel, so this would be the power draw when you're first plugging it in. That works out to roughly 650W. Hope that helps!

Fridge efectiveness 1 answer
I am close to buying the Engel MT-V45FC (40L) instead of the 57L model as the 40L best meets my needs. However, I need to be certain about the process for generating cold air for the fridge section (which is connected to the freezer section) as there is no obvious cooling vanes around the walls of the fridge compartment. There seems to be small plates (2) at the top of both fridge side walls – almost on the rim – is cool air pushed (fan?) downwards through that? Without separate temp settings, my concern is that if I set the freezer at (say) -13, will my fridge section be so cold that the tomatoes & lettuce turn into ice blocks? The inside of the unit lid has a raised section which seems to sit on the top of the fridge/freezer divider, thus preventing cold air transfer? However, if I were to change the fridge/freezer combination and thus alter the location of the divider, the ridge on the lid would no longer sit on the divider top thus creating a gap and breaking what seems to be a seal between the divider and the inside lid? Can you comment on these points please?
Gordon - Belmont, WA(10 months ago)
G'day Gordon,
There is a hidden thermostatically controlled fan inside the upper side of the fridge section that circulates cold air from the freezer side to the fridge side. This fan does accurately maintain the fridge section between 0-5°C, assuming the freezer side is set to below 0°C. Setting the freezer to -13°C and changing the divider location won't make the fridge side freeze as the thermostat will monitor this and keep a suitable temp for the fridge side.

Power Source1 answer
Can you plug an Anderson plug directly into the MT- V45F i.e. using a double ended Anderson plug power cord?
Rick - NSW (1 year ago)
G'day Rick,
Engel doesn't have an Anderson input on their fridges. You could consider the Voltflow Engel to Anderson cable as an alternative to the Engel stock cable. It isnt fused, but the fridge is, and so should your power source. The only reason some cables are fused is to protect the cable, and give double-up protection. If that's something that's important to you you could add an inline fuse yourself.

Engel power source1 answer
I have 2 eclipse units. I can leave 240v & 12v plugged in continuously & the fridges alternate between power sources automatically. Does the MTV do the same?
Glenn - Coolah, NSW(3 years ago)
G'day Glenn,
Yep, absolutely. It will preference 240v over 12v though, so will only divert to 12v when that's not available.

Overall Height1 answer
May I please know when you fully open the lid 90 degrees up, what is the total height? Just seeing if it will be a good fit in my tool box Thanks
Faz - Sydney, NSW(3 years ago)
G'day Faz,
The maximum height of the Engle MT-V45F, when the lid is open, is 99cm. Hopefully that fits in your space!
