Jetboil in snow/ski resort1 answer
Could this boil water on higher altitudes/alpine ranges, particularly on ski resorts e.g., Mt Buller, Baw-Baw, Hotham
Jon - Tarneit, VIC(3 years ago)
G'day John,
It definitely can, you'll just need to make sure you are using a high quality gas blend such as Jetboil or MSR.

Minimo1 answer
Whats the maximum amount of water you can boil at one time?
Rick - Perth, WA(3 years ago)
G'day Rick,
I think we show this in our product review video, but it may not be obvious! The capacity is 1L but it's recommended not to boil more than 0.7L at a time to account for the water bubbling over.

Can you buy the pot separately?1 answer
I have the jetboil sumo but wanted to get a minimi pot for solo trips as well, can I purchase the pot separately without having to get a whole new stove?
Pia - Coburg, VIC(3 years ago)
G'day Pia,
Unfortunately not through Jetboil Australia. There was something called the Jetboil Companion Cup for a while, but they are now discontinued. Some retailers do still have stock, but you'd have to hit Google to try and track one down. The Companion Cup - Short is the one compatible with the SUmo/MiniMo burner. Hope that helps.

Heating up1 answer
Could you heat up baked beans or something similar and noodles in the minimo? I'm trying to decide between the Jetboil Flash and the Minimo to heat things rather than cook them. Which would you recommend?
Nicole - Blue Haven, NSW(3 years ago)
G'day Nicole,
If you want to do anything other than boil water, the MiniMo is the best bet. It has a wider base for better heat distribution and allows for easy stiring. The Flash is narrower and taller, so is less favourable for food preparation. The MiniMo also simmers, so combined with that and that ability to stir your food, you shouldnt have things sticking to the bottom.

Soup pouches1 answer
Will this be ok to use heating soup pouches or is it just suitable only for boiling water?
Hayden - Kensington, VIC(3 years ago)
G'day Hayden,
The MiniMo packs a fair amount of concentrated heat, so while we think it should be ok, there may be some risk of melting the soup pouch if they're resting against the pot. It's hard to say sorry.

Jetboil Gas Cannister Size1 answer
Which Jetboil fuel canister size do I purchase if I want to store it with my Jetboil Minimo Pot, and along with the items it comes with when trekking?
Chris - Fremantle, WA(3 years ago)
G'day Chris,
You'll need the 100g size if you're wanting to fit the burner and the canister in the cup. You can fit a 230g canister in the cup if you leave the burner on the base of the unit, however the lower cap won't fit over the burner, so we'd recommend sticking to the 100g size.

Flash + Cooking Pot vs Mini-mo2 answers
For versatility, am I best to get Jetboil Flash (Quick water boil) cooking pot (for when I’m hiking in longer trips and want a break from freeze-died). Or can Mini-mo meet both needs? Can you regulate heat only with the mini-mo with the cooking pot?
Eve - Beecroft (4 years ago)
G'day Eve,
It really comes down to personal preference, however, the more popular combination seems to be a flash for solo trips, with the addition of the cooking pot for group cooking. The MiniMo will essentially do both jobs, however, it does have a higher heat output, which will likely be trickier for cooking food from scratch options.
Leece - Snowys(4 years ago)
The mini mo is better for cooking on as it has a more adjustible flame settings, it is not off or 100% on like the flash.

Can you get the different colours?1 answer
Like the Jetboil site in USA has 4 colours I think 🤔😊
Huw - Williamstown (5 years ago)
We currently only have the black version available in Australia sorry, Huw. There are a number of products available on the US Jetboil site that we do not have here.

Cooking vs just boiling water?1 answer
Hi This version has simmer capability as a selling point/differentiation from some of the other models, yet Snowys still recommend only using it to boil water? If so why wouldn't I go with a cheaper model that doesn't have simmer control, or is this some more Snowys 'ass' covering? Not trying to be being smart here but it seems simmer capability means more versatile cooking options. Yes, I realise that cooking in the pot may shorten its life , as opposed to just boiling water in it. Thanks.
Rob - Glenbrook(5 years ago)
G'day Rob,
I've checked with some of our staff who use the jetboil regularly and from their experience, the jet boil is great for boiling water and other foods which contain a fair amount of liquid. The intensity of heat the flame produces(even with the simmer control) will tend to cook 'drier' foods such as eggs or bacon too quickly and burn them and destroy the pot. The pot support with a frypan or saucepan will enable you to cook 'drier' foods at a slower pace and save the pot for liquids.

Does the coffee plunger fit this MiniMoJet boil1 answer
Im interested in this for bike packing
Therese Van Gurp - Valley Heights(5 years ago)
G'day Therese,
The Grande Coffee Press is the one you'd be after for use with the MiniMo and Sumo model Jetboils. Hope that helps!
Lauren - Snowys(5 years ago)
Will the burner also work with a Sumo?1 answer
I currently have a Sumo, are these interchangeable.
Dick - 4500(6 years ago)
G'day Dick,
I've just double checked and the MiniMo and Sumo are the same diameter so the burners are interchangeable.

Handle1 answer
Hi, does the handle on the pot fold flat against pot?
robert - Chapel hill (6 years ago)
G'day Robert,
That's correct! I've just double checked with the stock we have in store and can confirm the curved metal handle of the JetBoil MiniMo Stove & Pot Support does fold flat against the side of the pot.

Cooking rice1 answer
Any feedback as to how well this unit can cook rice from scratch...e.g. absorption method over low heat?
Dan - Bega(6 years ago)
G'day Dan,
We generally wouldn't recommend cooking food directly in the Jetboil MiniMo. The high heat is great for quickly boiling water to pour into freeze-dried meals, but cooking rice in this will inevitably lead to caked on rice that's very hard to get off. Luckily Back Country make Instant Rice that just needs boiling water added to the sachet.

How many mls is the cup that is supplied with the minimo?1 answer
The specs indicate boil time of 2.15 for 500ml but also mentions 1 litre in the specs.
Tracey - Orange(6 years ago)
G'day Tracey,
The cup capacity of the JetBoil MiniMo Stove & Pot Support is 1L. The Boil time of 2.15mins refers to 500ml say for when you're making a couple of cups of tea. The boil time for 1L is closer to 4.5 minutes.

Does this include the Compatible accessories (Coffee Press, Hanging Kit, and Pot Support)?1 answer
Does this include the Compatible accessories (Coffee Press, Hanging Kit, and Pot Support)?
Bianca - Enmore(6 years ago)
G'day Bianca,
The JetBoil MiniMo is currently supplied with the pot support, but the Grande Coffee Press is available to purchase separately. The Hanging Kit is not currently available for purchase in Australia, so you might need to order one in from an overseas website.

What's different to the previous MiniMo?1 answer
Is it just a name change, or is this a new and improved version to the original MiniMo?
Stephen - Brisbane(6 years ago)
G'day Stephen,
I've had a quick look into this for you. The only changes are the colour is now 'carbon' and doesn't have the silhouettes of trees on it anymore, and the pot support is now included in the package. But the stove itself is unchanged mate.

Pot support included?3 answers
Can you confirm whether this includes the pot support please. Title suggests it does but the details/pics do not mention it.
Jill - Hervey Bay(6 years ago)
G'day Jill,
There's been some conflicting information about this going around as Jetboil was including it, then not, now they are again. So to be really clear for everyone reading Jills question, the Jetboil MiniMo is currently being supplied with a Pot Support included.
Tim - Snowys(6 years ago)
I was in the Keswick branch the other day & was advised that none of the jetboils on the shelf came with the pot support included. Is this correct? Thanks.
John - 5090(4 years ago)
G'day John,
I'm sorry you were given the wrong information there. I can confirm that the MiniMo definitely comes with pot support as the name suggests. Thanks for letting us know, and we'll follow it up with the team.
