Hello the clip that controls the gas has fallen off my jetboil. Do you know if it's possible to replace it ?(The silver giant paper clip looking thing?)
G'day Jacinta,
You may be able to pick up a replacement from somewhere like eBay that has parts from Jetboil USA, but otherwise, I've only ever seen the whole regulator assembly as a part.
You could definitely and very easily make a replacement yourself from a paper clip if you felt like getting crafty - thats what i did with mine.
Can you please advise the inside diameter measurement of the jetboil stove cup? (Not the plastic cup). Thanks
G'day Rhys,
One of our team members has measured this and it's 95mm for the inside diameter of the cup.
Is it possible to run the jetboil flash from a standard LPG tank? Is there a regulator/adaptor to make this possible?
G'day Martin,
No, not at all. This stove runs off isobutane/propane blend fuel only, and is designed to connect to Lindal valve hiking canisters.
Is the Flash cooking cup compatible with the Sumo burner?
G'day Troy,
No, its not. The Flash and Zip use the same sized, narrow burner.
The MiniMo and Sumo are a larger diameter, so their burner isn't compatible with the narrower flasks.
Does this system have the capacity, when packed down, to house a 230g canister or just the 100g?
G'day Colin,
You'll only be able to fit the smaller 100g canister inside the Flash Hiking Stove. The 230g canister is too wide and tall to fit.
Hi - the item description says this is the 2018 model, but in other answers you say it’s not the 2018 model (with the titanium bottom and one minute faster boil time). Which one is it please?
G'day Lou,
The new improved 2018/19 version of the Jetboil Flash (the titanium bottom with faster boil time) did not get approval from the Australian Gas Association so it will not be available for purchase in Australia.
Just wanted to know when you are getting the 2019 version cheers
G'day Danny,
I've just called the supplier and the 'NEW 2018 model' did not meet the standard for the Australian Gas Association so it won't be stocked in Australia. The Flash model we are currently advertising is the only model available in Australia.
Just curious if the blue coloured flash is available in Australia..
G'day Jacinta,
The Jetboil Flash Hiking Stove is no longer made in Blue. The only colours currently available in Australia are Carbon (Black) and Camo.
Does the Jetboil Flash come with the pot support?
G'day Jenny,
I've just double checked our stock and the Jetboil Flash currently comes without the pot support so you would need to purchase one separately to use larger pots.
what's difference between old and new versions??
G'day Kimberley,
The 2018 JetBoil Flash is now 1 minute faster than the previous model, the baseplate is made of aluminium to make it lighter, it has a heat indicator that changes colour for safety and fuel efficiency, a more ergonomic design and an improved lid. You can check out this great video from JetBoil here which talks through the updates, I hope this helps Kimberley.
But you don't sell the 2018 model, that boils quicker, according to previous replies to questions?
It isn't something that we can currently get in Australia by the looks, Kimberley, it wasn't approved by the relevant Australian gas authorities. It looks like this newest version boils water in 100 seconds, which is about a minute quicker than the version listed here in mid-2020.
We'll have the new model just as soon as it is approved for sale in Australis, we have no idea when this will be though, sorry.
Is the Flash compatible with other fuel canister brands? We may not be able to source JetBoil ones.
G'day Rebecca,
Yep. We sell Jetboil, MSR and Companion canisters that you can safely use with Jetboil stoves and I'm sure there's plenty of other brands. The only thing to look for is they do come in different blends, so try to look for a 4 season isobutane blend like the Jetboil ones. It improves the efficiency of the stove meaning you get more boiling from less fuel.
Are you stocking the improved 2018 version yet..?
Hi Andrew, to our knowledge, the new Jetboil Flash still needs to be passed by the Australian Gas Association. Unfortunately, this process can take some time, often months, but it's not something that is in our control sorry. All I can say at this stage is that as soon as the new Jetboil Flash becomes available in Australia, we'll be doing all we can to get it into our shelves and onto our website.
**23rd November 2018 - Just an update to this one, we've just spoken to Sea to Summit who supply Jetboil in Australia and the new Flash model is still awaiting approval from the Australian Gas Association. Once we know more we'll make the information available here.
Is this the new version?
G'day Sean,
This isn't the new version yet, the approval process through the Australian Gas Association can take many months. Once we have the new model we'll update the listing.
This is still the old (pre-2018) version.
Update 27/5/19 - The new improved 2018 version of the Jetboil Flash did not get approval from the Australian Gas Association so it will not be available for purchase in Australia.
Hi there I know you are unable to ship gas canisters but do you sell them at your shop in SA? Will be purchasing the Jetboil soon and my husband travels past your store quite often. Thanks Lisa
G'day Lisa,
We most certainly do sell the fuel canisters for your JetBoil Flash Hiking Stove in our Adelaide store. Feel free to swing by, we can't wait to see you!
Hi Folks Do any of the Jetboil models allow for the large 450 can to be stored inside the mug / pot
G'day Greg,
The only one in the range that will fit a 450g canister is the Jetboil Sumo, available here.
does it simmer or does it just boil? Do you have a unit that simmers?
This flashy little stove offers hard and fast cooking making it ideal for freeze-dried foods and quick beverages and whilst it does have some flame adjustment, in my experience, a simmer is pushing its boundaries. To accommodate for this, the new Minimo (by Jetboil) is soon to arrive. This new re-proportioned cooker delivers the finest simmer control of any upright cooking system with all the features popular in the Jetboil range. Please give us a call if you'd like to find out availability timings or other cooking options.
