The description says the wall panels have zips joining them. Does this mean it’s possible to just put just one wall panel on to if you want to provide a wind break but you don’t want to obstruct the view with the other panels? Or does the 3 panelled main wall (not the little back walls) all have yo be attached? Thanks!
G'day Kristin,
It's a single wall set and needs to be attached in one go. The zips between each section allows you to unzip to a certain point, and either roll up the unwanted panels, or peg and pole them out as awning extensions.
Will the sides work/ be able to be fully utilised if attached to a car which is only 165cm tall with roof rack?
G'day Danika,
The walls are designed to work best with awnings that are mounted at around 1.9-2m off the ground. You could use these walls when mounted to a lower vehicle, but you'll just have to set up the walls at a wider angle. It won't be ideal, but should still work ok.
Does it come with the smaller front-side walls? (The ones that enclose it to the side of the car) They are pictured in the 3rd photo, but the description only states it comes with 3 walls. If they aren’t included, do you sell them? Cheers
G'day Mitch,
Yes, the 3 walls are:
1 x single wall pannel across the whole front of the awning
2 x rear awning panels
In the picture plans of the wall set, you have one picture showing the rear of the vehicle. In this picture there are two triangular shaped black panels. Are these designed as an infill from the outer edge of the awning and the side of the vehicle?
G'day Rob,
Yes, they are. Whilst this particular awning can be used on the side of a vehicle as well, it was primarily designed as a rear vehicle awning, so the wall set reflects this.
I can’t figure out the dimensions once the walls are on...how much wider is the shelter? I’m wondering if my Darche dusk to dawn double swag would fit inside this? I know without the walls the swag and awning are the same width.
G'day Rachel,
It took me a little while to work out exactly what you meant, but I think I understand. The walls taper out so create more space at the ground level. Darche doesn't give an exact figure, however, my best estimate is about an extra 50cm of width between where the poles would normally sit, and where they'll sit once angled with the tapered walls. Did you want us to give Darche a call and double-check if they have an exact figure? If so, just send us a quick email and we'll follow it up for you.
Hi Im just wondering what the difference is with the Darche Eclipse 180 Awning Wall Set and this? The pics are confusing me.
G'day Peter,
This set is designed to attach to the Darche Eclipse 180 Versatile Awning which attaches to the rear or side of your vehicle and provides 4m2 of coverage. The Darche Eclipse 180 Awning Wall set is designed to attach to the Darche Eclipse 180 Awning which attaches to the passenger side of your vehicle and has 8.2m2 of coverage.
