If a heavy pot is placed on a plate surely that could bring the whole thing over.
G'day Michelle,
Having used this in the past to either cook directly on or put frypans on, they seem to be quite stable - however, I guess this would also depend on how far the pole is underground. The plates do swivel around so you can use the fire to your best advantage!
what are the overall sizes of the cooking plates?
G'day Braeden,
The Large Plate is 91.5 x 40.5cm, and the Small Plate is 41 x 41cm. The sizes listed are measure from edge to edge and don't include the triangle-shaped pole attachments.
Just wanting to know if that is a thick plate or not .
G'day Mark,
The plate is 2mm thick steel, so fairly standard thickness for this style of plate.
What is the diameter of the centre pole?
G'day Andrew,
The centre pole is 30mm in diameter
Are you able to cook meat and the rest straight of the enamel surface ? Or is it more designed to be used with pans etc ?
G'day John,
Yes, you can cook directly on the surface of the Campfire Cooking Combo.
From Peter
G'day Peter,
The Campfire Cooking Combo does come with a bag. We'll update our website to reflect this.
Can the top grill be removed if not required?
G'day Cindy,
I've just had a go of this myself in store with the display model, and yes you can remove the top grill from the Campfire Cooking Combo.
Hello, I am curious by what means is the bottom plate adjustable, does it have a collar that the tube of the BBQ plate sits on enabling it to swivel or does the pipe of the BBQ plate have a wing nut/bolt to stop it sliding down the verticle pipe. Regards, Troy.
G’day Troy – that is a very astute question! Each plate is held in place by a T nut grub screw. The bottom plate can either sit on a long collar provided (for extra sturdiness) or on a locking pin that can be placed on several locations on the main shaft.
Does it come with a bag or do you have a bag available? Thx Ross
Hi Ross, Indeed! The Pioneer Cooking Combo does come with a carry/storage bag and it packs down to roughly 13 x 93 x 59cm. Happy Fry Up!
Hi I was actually wondering how much of the pole can be underground before it affects how much room you have left for the fire to be under the main plate. So I think you are telling me that the full pole length is 93cm only from top to bottom?
Hi, I would like to purchase something like this in NZ, do you freight overseas?
just want to confirm that it comes with both the larger grill/hotplate combo cooking surface as well as the smaller grill cooking service as well as the hook for a billy can? what thickness is the solid hotplate?
I have a firepit and I want to be able to have a pole in the firepit permanently and just add the Campfire Cooking Combo when required on top of the pole (it's a large firepit so the pole that is on it won't be long enough as is anyway)
Hi I am wondering whether this product is designed to be concreted in ground or bolted to a solid surface?
