If checked in with our resident loo expert, and 4 days is how long the chemical will be effective in the toilet. It requires another sachet to be added after that time so it keeps the toilet from getting too smelly, and assists in breaking down the waste.
There's no need to empty the toilet unless it's full.

The green is septic safe, however we'd recommend asking the National Parks Service in your state whether or not they allow waste dumping in their pit toilets. Generally, they like to keep pit toilets just for on-site use, and recommend using approved dump point in caravan parks etc. Both products will do the same job, with more people choosing the Green option these days, the Blue doesn't have any distinct advantages over the Green.

We wouldn't recommend trying to add half a sachet, however theoretically if you did, I'd expect about 2 days of use.

The liquid aqua kem green requires 150ml per 20L waste tank, and will generally last about 4days with average use. The sachets also last approximately 4 days but don't specifically list a tank size, so let's assume they'll dose the same size tank. You'll get approx 6.5-7 doses per L of fluid, which equates to approx 13 doses for the 2L bottle, versus 12 doses per packet of sachets. Overall it is very slightly cheaper to go for the sachets at the current price.

Thetford recommend storing the Porta Potti with both tanks clean and completely empty, so no we wouldn't recommend leaving aqua kem in the tank.
