Staff tip:Heads up! When unboxing your Porta Potti, you'll find the tank caps inside the loo.
Hi would the theford 335 waste tank be interchangeable with the theford model 345 ?
Karin - Salisbury East, SA (9 months ago)
G'day Karin,
We've tried this out instore - the 345 & 335 holding tanks are not compatible. Their dimensions are different, so it won't connect

Carry bag1 answer
Hi, what carry bag will fit this toilet correctly? The porta potti brand looks like it’s designed for the larger model so would be much too big? Also, is this exactly the same as the 365 just a smaller capacity tank?
Michelle - Beacon Hill, NSW (2 years ago)
G'day Michelle,
The Medium Blacksmith Porta Potti Bag is designed to fit this particular toilet. The Thetford one will also work, but is a touch bigger. In terms of comparison to the 365, yep!

Capacity1 answer
Your info states the capacity as Holding 12 liters and Flush 15 liters. When preparing the toilet is this how much water you put in each tank or do I need to put in less, particularly in the Holding tank?
Ian - Mareeba, QLD(3 years ago)
G'day Ian,
The Flush Tank can hold up to 15 litres, which is (as the name suggests) your toilet flushing water. You can fill as much or as little of this tank up as you like, but if you are choosing to you a flush water additive, make sure you're adhering to any minimum ratio guidelines. The Holding is for your waste, so filling it up with water means less room for you to actually use the toilet. When you are adding your initial holding tank chemicals to an empty tank, there will be a small amount of water required to dilute this/activate it, but again, just adhere to the use guidelines of your chosen chemical.
If you need further information, please refer to the product manual, listed as a PDF just above the Q&A section online. Hope that helps!

How many days for 2 people without empty1 answer
How many days can this one hold (roughly) for 2 people without being emptied
Peng - Sydney(4 years ago)
G'day Peng,
You will get up to 32 flushes from the 345 model, so depending on how much you use it you could get upwards of around 1 week.

Rinse with seawater1 answer
Hi Is it ok to rinse the toilet with seawater after emptying the dump station. Or even use seawater instead of drinking water, to save on our supplies? Does seawater impact on the flushing mechanism or chemical additives? Thanks!
Andy - Perth(4 years ago)
G'day Andy,
It's not advised to use seawater for rinsing or flushing your toilet as this may cause damage to the seals, and reduce the efficiency of the chemical additives.

4WD Travelling with Porta Potti not emptied1 answer
Hi I have to get one of these for a trip to WA National Parks. Unless there is a long drop, their rules are no Chemical Toilet, no camping! We usually travel each day or 2: do we have to empty it before we set off each day or can you travel with it say half full?
Peter - METFORD(5 years ago)
You'd be ok to travel with it half-full, Peter. Make sure everything is sealed up and transport it in a good travel bag like the Porta Potti bags made by Blacksmith. These have a PVC base which adds a level of redundancy in the unlikely instance that you do experience any leaks.

Can these type of toilets be transported in 2 parts to save space without leaking,if stored the right way up?1 answer
Can these type of toilets be transported in 2 parts to save space without leaking,if stored the right way up
Paul - Hornsby Heights NSW(6 years ago)
G'day Paul,
You can store the Thetford Portapotti Qube 345 in separate parts as long as you make sure that you've sealed it all up nicely otherwise you might arrive to a nasty surprise at the other end!
