Love the stove, just want a recommendation on where I can get a longer hose that will fit ok
G'day Kate,
An alternative hose cannot be used with this stove, the gas pressures are only compatible with a 1m long hose.
You can refer to your stoves manual for further infomation, but I've copied that section of the instructions here:
"Only use the hose assembly as supplied with this appliance for connection to the cylinder - DO NOT USE ADAPTORS.
Maximum hose length is 100cm"
I am going to use a 9kg POL bottle with a suitable adapter to fit this stove hose, etc.. Do I need a gas regulator on the bottle side? I've heard that this stove doesn't need one, just unscrew the gas bottle valve really gently. Please give me your advice, Regards
G'day Tom,
No, the stove requires an unregulated gas supply so a regulator will prevent the stove from working.
If you want to use a POL bottle all you need is a 3/8th BSP to POL adapter to attach to the bottle.
The hose supplied is designed to attach to a normal LPG gas bottle, just with a different size fitting, there's no need to treat the attachment process any differently.
Can't see a gas hose with it. If there is one, does the gas hose fit into a standard bbq lpg bottle?
G'day Phil,
The hose that comes with this stove has a 3/8th BSP fitting.
Some LPG gas bottle come with this connection as standard, and some come with a POL fitting.
If your gas bottle has the latter you just need the this adapter.
Is a coleman propane gas bottle and stove regulator compatible with this stove?
G'day Jim,
No, the Classic 2 Burner Stove is designed to be used with a standard LPG bottle with a 3/8" BSP fitting. Theoretically you could use a Coleman Propane Cylinder be using this UNEF to 3/8" adapter, however it's not something we'd recommend.
I am looking to purchase a gas bottle for this cooker. which would you recommend for easy of attaching and disconnecting please?
I take it that "manual ignitition" means a box of matches?
G'day M,
Yes, you'll need some matches or a lighter to get this Classic Stove alight.
which model fo gasmate jet do i need to order to replace the jets
G'day Jus,
We don't currently have the jets for the Classic 2 Burner Stove on our website, but we should be able to special order it for you from Gasmate. Please send us an email and our special orders team will be able to advise on the current price and availability.
Is it possible to for this unit to use the propane gas bottles? Would something need to be bought to convert it?
G'day Lily,
You can use the UNEF to 3/8" BSP adapter in order to use this unit with 465g Propane Cylinders, however it is something we'd recommend using with caution, and ensuring you can secure the cylinder on a stable surface.
Hi I saw someone asked about the replacement of the original Hose 4 years ago. I tried to find out the Hose you have in the shop but I can't really see the same one. Is that possible to give me the item link so I can order it? Thanks
G'day Fiona,
Sorry about that, our codes system has changed a little since that question was answered! You'll need the Fine Thread High-Pressure Hose.
Are the side wind guards removable?
G'day Olivia,
The side wind guards are foldable, but unfortunately not removable.
What’s the best gas bottle for this stove
G'day Kobi,
The Classic 2 Burner Stove has a 3/8" BSP fitting on the end of the hose, so any of the Gasmate Cylinders with that fitting will suit. Check our the 1.25kg 2kg, 3kg, 4kg cylinders.
What extras will I need to make a gas bottle work with this stove
G'day Kobi,
You can use the Classic 2 Burner with your standard BBQ gas bottle, you'll just need a POL to 3/8" BSP adapter to connect the hose to the bottle.
Also do you have the classic 2 burner in stock currently?
G'day Tracy,
Yes you can use a 2kg bottle with the Classic 2 Burner Stove. Thje supplied hose is 64cm, but if you wanted a slightly longer hose then the Companion High-Pressure Fine Thread is 120cm long.
Hi I am thinking to connect this stove to https://www.bigw.com.au/product/coleman-propane-fuel-light-weight-lpg-bottle/p/8317203/, what kind of fitting do I need?
G'day William,
You will be able to run the Gasmate Classic 2 Burner Stove from the small propane canisters from Coleman. You'll need the Gasmate UNEF to 3/8 BSP Adapter to convert those bottles for use with this stove. The other option would be to look at the Companion Weekender 2 Burner Stove that is already set up to be used with the Coleman Propane canisters.
Just wondering how long the hose is?
G'day Jordan,
The hose for the Gasmate Classic 2 Burner Stove is 64cm.
We have recently purchased this stove, but have noticed that the hose is not very long and doesn't connect to a standard 9kg gas bottle. Do you have a hose which connects to the end of the existing hose and into a 9 kg gas bottle which is, say 1m long?
G'day Tameika,
It's not recommended that you extend gas hoses
Ben
Hi. We currently use a swap and go 4.5kg bottle (soon will change to 9kg) that you can swap at servos/bunnings with a baby webber at home with standard connections. Would this stove work with the gas bottle and connection i have described?
G'day Vicki,
You can use the Gasmate Classic 2 Burner Stove with a 4.5kg or 9kg swap and go bottle, you will just need an adapter that you can find here
I've just been on the swap'n'o website and they say the bottles have a POL connection. Does this mean I need Gasmate 3/8"BSP to POL Gas Cylinder Adapter to work with this stove rather than Primus POL to 3/8" BSP Straight Gas Cylinder Adapter which is the link provided in your answer above? Thanks
G'day Annie,
While you're correct that swap'n'go bottles have a POL fitting, to connect the stove you need the Primus one I specified as the Gasmate one you've referenced is for the reverse of what Vicki asked for, you'd use the Gasmate adapter if you had a BBQ with a POL hose and wanted to use a smaller 3/8"BSP bottle.
I have an old 0.34kg primus gas bottle. Would I need to buy an adapter for this stove, or will the connections match?
You certainly will Kate. You'll need an internal valve adapter which turns the output into a 3/8BSP, which is the standard gas bottle fitting on most camp stoves. You can see them here.
We don't have any in-stock right now, but if you were to order one with your stove we'd make sure we sorted one out for you as quickly as we could.
Ben
Can the windshields be moved down to accomodate for larger pots?
G'day Alexandra,
I've just had a look at one of our Gasmate Classic 2 Burner Stoves on the shop floor and can confirm that you can fold the windshields out from the stove to allow for bigger pots to sit on the stove.
Which worked the best with the barbeque
G'day Josh,
We'd recommend you use one of the Gasmate 3/8" BSP Camping Bottles we stock, like the 2kg version here - https://www.snowys.com.au/38-bsp-camping-gas-cylinder-2-kg. They're available in a bunch of different sizes and come with the correct fitting to pair up with the Gasmate Classic 2 Burner Stove.
We have this stove but the hose isn't working any longer, how can we ensure we buy the correct replacement? There are so many different options!
G'day Sarah,Â
The correct hose that you'll need isn't online unfortunately, but we do have it in store so you pop in to visit us, or you can give us a call and we can take your order over the phone. It's called the Gasmate LP Gas Hose, and the Snowys code for it is 42391.Â
The description says it needs " Gas Fitting to Appliance: BOM via Regulator" This implies it DOES need a regulator, please advise.
G'day G,
The Gasemate Classic 2 Burner Stove is a high pressure unregulated stove. It does not require a regulator. Thanks for picking that up! We'll get it amended.
