The Yeti 150 portable power station from Goal Zero that’s soundless and fumeless – making it a great option for car camping and any time you need some emergency power.
This gas-free source of power can be recharged by connecting to a compatible separate Goal Zero solar panel, regular wall outlet, or by your car 12V adaptor. The LCD battery display indicates the current charge level and will set you back 6 hours by charging it from a wall, or 8 hours for a vehicle.
The Yeti 150 can charge a GPS – 18-50 times, action cam – 30-40 times, smartphone 15-30 times, tablet – 3-10 times, and a laptop 1-3 times. How long would a DOMETIC WAECO CF-18 fridge run for on a yeti 150. It consumes 78kwh/24h. 3.1A DC12V .thank you
G'day Sim,
The Yeti 150 is a 14Ah AGM lead acid battery. Bearing in mind Lead Acid can only be used to 1/2 - 2/3 of their capacity before needing to be recharged, which makes your maximum usage around 9Ah.
Given your CF-18 draws approx 3.1Ah, that works out to about 2.5-3 hours of run time at the test temps of 5*c at 25*c ambient. Any colder fridge temp or higher ambient temp will reduce that run time even further.
I'm wondering if I could power a pedestal fan with this
G'day Jess,
I've just had a look at our office pedestal fan and it is 45 Watts so yes you'd be able to use a pedestal fan with the Yeti 150. However, you'd likely run out of power after approximately 3 hours.
Thanks
G'day Lyn,
The Yeti 150 Portable Power Station may or may not power your 12V fan heater depending on the maximum power draw of the heater unit. They have a maximum 10A (120W) max load so be sure to double check the fan heater you're planning to use to see if it work.
Would this charge a 12v heated rug?
G'day Emma,
The Yeti 150 may or may not be able to charge/power your 12V heated rug. There is a 120 watt maximum on 12V, so as long as your rug draws less than 120 watts then that should be ok.
Hi Would this give power to my hairdryer for how long?
G'day Sarah,
The Yeti 150 has a maximum load of 120 watts so it's highly unlikely that your hair dryer will work. Most hair dryers need 1000-1500 watts at startup, so won't be compatible with portable battery or inverter systems.
Do I need a regulator on my 110w solar panel in order to charge this? Can I wire up an Anderson connector plug straight from the panel, so I can then plug in the goal zero Anderson to 8mm adaptor? Thanks
G'day Hayden,
Yes, you'll need some form of the regulator on your solar panel to be able to connect it to the Yeti 150. Most modern portable solar panels will have a built-in solar regulator. You will need the 50A Anderson to 8mm Adaptor for Sherpa & Yeti to connect the panel to the Yeti.
Could you use the Yeti 150 to power a pop-up kettle?
G'day Kate,
The Goal Zero Yeti 150 won't have enough juice to run a Popup Billy 240V kettle. The Yeti 150 has
How long would the Yeti power two laptops, an internet modem and printer? Thanks for your help
G'day Massimo,
That's a tough one. You would need to determine the power that each appliance draws per hour and compare that to the amount of power the Yeti 150 is able to store. In the case of a printer, this would vary drastically based on how much you are printing I imagine. Goal Zero suggest you'll get 1-3 laptop charges out of it, but how long it would power a modem or printer for I'm not sure sorry. Also, keep in mind there is only one 240V outlet on the front, so it can only power one device at a time. I'd suggest if you needed to run items like this for an extended period of time you'd need to look at a solar charging set-up to keep the battery powered up.
just wondering how long it will power a Waeco TC-35FL Warmer Cooler 33L for?
G'day Adrian,
The Waeco TC-35FL will generally draw approx 4-6 amps per hour. The Yeti 150 Portable Power Station is 14Ah, so at best you would get just over 2 hours of use from this unit.
How long could this power the Companion high volume shower for? And how much battery will it drain from the unit if I use for around 1 to 2 minutes?
G'day Trent,
The Companion High Volume Shower runs at about 2.5Ah. The Goal Zero Yeti 150 Portable Power Station has a 14Ah battery in it. This means that you should comfortably get at least 4 hours of power to your shower before you're going to want to look at recharging your battery.
Is this the cheapest power source for a 12v camping shower? I want a portable power station that can power my shower, but this is quite expensive
G'day Trent,
If you're looking at a power pack to run your 12V shower for a few days at a time, then the Goal Zero Yeti 150 Portable Power Station is probably going to be your best bet if you don't have a car onsite that you can run your shower from.
Hi Does this charge waeco fridge 60ltr? Wanting battery that will last at least one day but would be great if lasted up to 3 days? Would this be suitable?
G'day Cassie,
The Goal Zero Yeti 150 Portable Power Station's battery is about 14Ah. The Dometic Waeco CFX 65W Fridge uses about 0.85 Ah. That would give you about 16 hours of power. If you're wanting something that will last a little longer, you might want to look at the Yeti 400.
