Carry and dispense your H20 on camping, touring, or hiking adventures in the strong and functional 20L Watercell X from Sea to Summit.
This cell is constructed from abrasion-resistant 400D nylon fabric with a BPA and PVC-free food-grade TPU lining. The RF welded 3D shape has an internal baffle that makes it easy to use and pack up compactly for storage. Filling it up is a breeze thanks to the wide mouth opening, and controlling the flow of water is easy with the multi-function cap. I am thinking of using these to replace water jerry can / buckets that connects to a hot water shower system (e.g. Joolca HOTTAP). Can the opening fit a water pump? Is there a there to keep the watercell upright or is it still better to pour the water from the watercell into a bucket?
Cheng - East Launceston, TAS(2 months ago)
G'day Cheng,
The Joolca is designed to be connected to mains water, or a pressurised water tank. You'll need to grab the off grid pump hose to feed water through from a jerry/bucket source, etc. The opening will fit the hose end, however the watercell comes set up to suspend with the mouth towards the ground. Its not impossible to change this, but it can be tricky - it just involves unthreading the the suspension strap from around the outside of the bag and rethreading it in reverse. Hope that helps.

Stackable?1 answer
Are these stackable as shown in one of the photos?
Tony - Bendigo, VIC (5 months ago)
G'day Tony,
Yes, you can stack the Watercell X bladders. There are lashing points to anchor them together so they don't become projectiles in the vehicle, which is the main thing to consider. Check out the second to last product photo to see an example of this.

Heating in sun1 answer
Hi if we lay this out in this sun, will it heat the water up like other solar bladders do?
Cynth - Tallarook, NSW(1 year ago)
G'day Cynth,
Yep, thats what we do with ours - we've tested it side by side with a normal solar shower and it heats up pretty much the same. If you're using this or other solar bladders, you do need pretty consistent hot sun though to get it to proper shower temperature.

Connection 1 answer
What size are the both fittings please, and do you do a multiple discount. Or do you have any other water storage for remote camping, I am looking to hook up to my joolca
Andrew - Nirimba, QLD (1 year ago)
G'day Andrew,
The Watercell bladders have a 63mm screw cap opening, which is on of the universal sizes for water storage options. Not sure how you would go about hooking up to the Joolca, but it may be possible with some creativity. You can find our full range of bulk water storage options here. Hope that helps!

20L stored in footwell1 answer
Could you store 20L in the second row footwell of a 4WD? I have a couple of young kids so their feet shouldn’t hit them yet.
Keone - Clovelly, NSW (1 year ago)
G'day Keone,
Yes, that should be fine, as long as there isn't anything overly abrasive/sharp in the footwell.

Garden hose connnection1 answer
I know you have already answered by suggesting the MSR kit with the hose. Just curious if the connection will fit a hose? or if some sort of adapter could be attatched to the MSR lid cap to change it to be able to take a regular hose connection.
Hamish - Doreen, VIC(3 years ago)
G'day Hamish,
Great question, but no. There's no compatibility between the Watercell or even MSR bladder options to connect to a garden hose.

Long term storage 1 answer
Hi, What's the best way to store the cell between uses? Leave some water in it? Completely dry it out? Thanks, Tim
Tim - Petrie, QLD(3 years ago)
G'day Tim,
We'd recommend ensuring that the cell is completely dry before storing it. It should then be stored in a cool dry place, away from extreme temperature changes.

Storage positioning 1 answer
Just wondering if this can be safely placed on it’s side in our 4WD when full rather than flat while travelling?
Dianne - Norwest, NSW(3 years ago)
G'day Dianne,
The Watercells dont have much structure, so if you place it on its side without being fully supported it will collapse down like a blob. I hope ive explained that well! If you are needing something self-supporting you'd be better looking at a jerrycan.

Hot water for shower?1 answer
Is this suitable for hot water since it can be used as a shower?
Will - Adelaide, SA(3 years ago)
G'day Will,
Yes, we've double-checked this with the team at Sea to Summit and they've confirmed that the Watercell X is suitable for water up to 60'C.

Hose Attachments1 answer
Hi Snowy's, I saw this on your Camping Show Podcast re Water Storage. Great show. Lauren is awesome and Ben is the OG! Are you able to tell me if this watercell will be able to accept some form hose attachment? I am hoping to leave the 20l bladder in the tray of my ute, and just pull out a hose attachment when I need some water ? Similar to what some people do with their Jerry cans. Thanks, George
George - Kingsgrove, NSW(3 years ago)
G'day George,
Stoked to hear you're loving the podcast! The Watercell are fairly new to Sea to Summit, so there isn't any specific accessories out there yet, but I reckon we've got a solution for you. The MSR Dromedary Hydration Kit actually fits onto the Watercell as the thread is an industry-standard size. It's designed as a hydration hose with a mouthpiece end, but you should find a way for this to work for you, or come up with an alternative. I've also checked in with Ben on this aswell, as he has both the Watercell and Dromedary, and he said it leaked a tiny bit once but not really since. It may be an idea to run some plumbing tape over it if you choose this option. Anyway, hope this helps mate!

How would these cells cope on a motorcycle?1 answer
Looking for a suitable and collapsible water cell around the 10L mark that can be strapped on top of a case. Would this work or can you suggest another suitable why to carry water please?
Penny - Oxenford, QLD(4 years ago)
G'day Penny,
The Watercell X is made from a nice durable material, and has attachment points to strap them down on the sides, so I think it could be a good option for a motorcycle. We mainly recommend them for hiking / biking / kayaking but they should suit motorcycle touring. My only concern would be if there was dirt between the watercell and the surface it is attached to, this could cause some abrasion over time, especially on roads with corrugations.
