If you’d like your family’s outdoors experience to be a little more on the luxurious end of the spectrum, then you can’t go past the Turbo Lite Twin 300 for spaciousness and comfort. Over the years the Turbo range has proved its worth by sticking around season after season while retaining the quality construction that Black Wolf is known for.
This newly updated range has tape sealed seams where the floor and tent wall meets and the fly has wider corners to guard against water leakage. In windy conditions, the extra reinforcing along the roof poles, and the stronger mesh on the windows and doors will add to the robustness of this tent.
The three-pole awning can be turned into an extended living area with optional panels, or it can be sectioned off with an optional screen room for a fully enclosed space. The added PVC storm flaps at the bottom of the optional front and side panels will help keep your awning dry in wet weather, and the zips and Velcro on the panels attach to the fly to allow for tape sealing for added water protection.
The larger of the two in the Turbo Lite Twin range, the 300 has a central room, with two added to the side that can be closed off for privacy or left open to create a central living space. The back door also can be opened as a basic two pole awning or closed for privacy. So, if you’ve got a massive group to shelter who like their creature comforts, the Turbo Lite Twin 300 will have you covered.

I can wake up easily with sunlight
G'day Chris,
This isn't a darkroom style tent, so doesn't have any light suppression technology on the materials.
It will basically perform like a standard synthetic tent from that perspective.
If you are wanting to block sunlight, canvas tents, or Darkroom specific models are the better options - something like the 10P Northstar may be a good option.
What is the dimension across the front of the awning? I.e. to find a tarp to match the length. Is it the same for the 240 twin and the 300 twin? Thanks
G'day Samantha,
No, it's not the same. The 240 and 300 refer to the cm² of the central room, so the 300 is 3m wide & the 240 is 2.4m wide.
Hope that helps!
We are planning on a 2 week camping trip. 2 adults and 2 children both under 4. We are wanting as much space as possible however do not want to compromise on quality. After reading some reviews we are concerned about the quality of the Black Wolf. When comparing to the Coleman Northstar 10p what is better quality? Which tent will withstand rain and wind better and last for years to come? When the walls are added to the awning how water tight is this extra room? Thanks!!
G'day Hayley,
The Blackwolf Turbo Tent and the Northstar 10P will both be great options, with similar amounts of space, the Blackwolf offering a little more space. Blackwolf is made from slightly heavier duty floor material, but the Northstar fly material is slightly heavier duty, and a little more waterproof. In terms of the frame structure, the Blackwolf has a better quality aluminium tube frame when compared to the Coleman Steel poles, mainly due to the light-duty plastic joints. The front awning area on the Turbo tent can be enclosed using the additional front and sidewalls, they do make it fairly watertight, and feature a PVC skirt at their base to help keep water out, however, they're not deemed completely watertight. The Turbo tent has a few mixed reviews, however, this hasn't been our personal experience here, quite a few of our staff members have them, and haven't had any issues with them. Personally, I think the Turbo tent is the superior option, however, the Coleman is obviously also very popular, and a little lighter on the bank account.
does it have a ridge pole and is it annoying to put in? We had the 300 plus and the ridge pole was a pain to put in
G'day Liza,
I'm not too sure what you mean by a ridge pole, however, if you have a look at our set up & pack away video you'll see what you'll need to do and which poles are included with the tent.
Hi there, just wondering what you'd recommend as a cheaper groundsheet option as the Black Wolf purpose built design is quite expensive.
G'day Clare,
The Oztrail Ultramesh Tarp in the 3.65 x 6.1m should suit your needs, it will come out about half a metre under the front awning area and be a little narrower than the width of the tent.
Loving the Twin 300. Always struggle to connect the horizontal awning pole to the central frame. Is there a specific hole for it to fit into?
G'day Richard,
Glad to hear you're liking the Turbo Lite Twin 300. It is a little tricky to get the awning pole into the central frame but there is a little slot for it. I find it's easiest to locate the slot when the tent is still at the lower level, you can pop it in and get someone to hold it while you get the rest of the tent set up.
what would be better for a family of 4. this or the cabin. I'm quite tall at 190cm and worry i will have to crouch in the end rooms
G'day Ryan,
Whilst you'd probably need to crouch a little inside the Black Wolf Turbo Lite Twin 300 Tent, it does offer a lot more room for sleeping space. The 450 Cabin will be plenty for the family too but would lack a touch of extra storage and living space.
We are getting a roof box to transport the tent more effectively and need an accurate reading so we don’t overload the roof rails with additional gear. Is there anyway you could weigh the tent in the bag in store to get a real reading? I’ve owned the tent a while now and lifted it onto roof racks etc and it feels a whole lot heavier than 34 KGs. Does Blackwolfs weight estimate include pegs, poles and fly? Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thanks
G'day Jez,
I've just had our warehouse team weigh the Black Wolf Turbo Lite Twin 300 Tent for you. It was still in the box, so that would account for a small amount of weight but they weighed it at 36.64kg.
Thanks a lot Ben. Greatly appreciate it. I’ve now got much more room to move in terms of weight on the roof - awesome!
Hi, We're deciding between this and the Outdoor Connection Brampton. 2 Adults, 3 boys. Any Advice or recommendations? Also, does an Oztrail Easy Fold Queen stretcher fit in the Turbo Lite twin (end rooms)?
G'day Jacqui,
I'll answer your questions in reverse. Yes, you should be fine with popping an Oztrail Easy Fold Queen Stretcher into each of the end rooms of the Black Wolf Turbo Lite Twin 300 Tent. As for the comparison, at risk of sounding cliché, this is a bit of a classic case of "you get what you pay for". Both tents are great, there's definitely nothing "wrong" with the Brampton, the Black Wolf just tends to have small advantages in most areas. The Black Wolf is slightly bigger (although packs down bigger too), is made of a thicker material, has aluminium poles compared to the Brampton's fibreglass and has a limited lifetime warranty compared to the Brampton's 3 years. You'd be happy with either tent but the Black Wolf does tend to have a few advantages.
TURBO LITE TWIN 300
G'day John,
For the Black Wolf Turbo Lite Twin 300, the side rooms are 180 x 300 cm and the middle room is 300 x 300 cm. The maximum head height is 210cm.
Just wanting to know if this is a instant up type?
G'day Justin,
Every Turbo tent in the Black Wolf range is considered an 'instant up'. They take between 3-5 minutes to erect.
