If you’ve got an Oztent RV3, RV4, or RV5, extend its living space with an Oztent Tagalong Tent. It simply zips to the awning of your RV to form what is really a second tent.
Made from waterproof rip-stop polycotton canvas – the same material as your Oztent RV and features other standard quality Oztent features such as heat taped and double stitched seams, heavy duty YKK zips and Velcro, strong and durable alloy poles, and more.
All windows and openings are equipped with insect proof mesh screens, there's a PVC tub-style floor for waterproofness and a large window at back for maximum ventilation or the awning can be closed if required.
Hello, any idea if the zip will fit on a 23zero peregrine awning?
G'day Daniel,
Unfortunately the zippers aren't compatible, so the Tagalong tent wouldn't be able to be attached to a Peregrine 270 awning.
Is this compatible with the RV3 Plus?
G'day Chris,
Yes, the Rv 3 Plus is compatible with the RV 3/4 Tagalong tent.
Does the tagalong tent go up as easily and quickly as the RV3?
G'day Sharryn,
The Tagalong Tents don't have any internal frame work so they're a little different to the RV models. You'll just need to attach the zipper to the front of your RV3 awning, peg out the base, and add the external poles in place, so they are still relatively quick and easy, just a different style.
Just wondering as it would be more practical for my setup
G'day Zach,
Unfortunately, the RV5 Tagalong is too long to attach to the side zipper of the front awning, and the zipper configuration doesn't quite work.
Just bought the new SV Max and wanted to see if the tagalong fits or if there’s a specific SV Max one that is needed.
G'day Abbey,
The SV-5 Max is not compatible with any of the RV series, including that tagalong.
A this stage there is no tagalong option for the SV-5 Max.
Any chance this could be used with the RV5 caravan connector to give the tagalog a universal sail track to then connect to any regular 4x4 awning?
G'day Paul,
Unfortunately you can't use a caravan connector to attach the RV5 Tagalong Tent to an awning with sail track, as the zipper runs in the opposite direction to what you'll need. The Foxwing 2.5 Tagalong Tent can be directly attached to a sail track awning though, so that might be a good option for you.
Does the ridge pole come with the tag along or is this required to be bought separately?
There are two ridge poles included, Jarrod, one for the front of the tent and another for the frame to the rear which attached to two included upright poles.
Everything you need to set up the Tagalong in full and attach to an RV tent is included.
Is the RV5 Tagalong compatible with the RX5?
G'day Kyran,
Unfortunately, the Tagalong tents don't attach to the RX models due to the configuration of zippers for the panel system in the RX tent.
Can the TagaLong RV5 connect to the Rhinorack batwing awnings? Also can the actual RV5 touring rent connect to the Rhinorack batwing awnings? Would the TagaLong fit a queen blowup mattress? I have a Rhinorack batwing awnings and am trying to work out the best option for camping for myself, my partner and our 6yo child...TagaLong might be a bit small? Does the TagaLong have an optional fly like the touring tent? Cheers Michael.
G'day Michael,
As far as I'm aware the the RV series is not compatible with the older Rhinorack awnings, however there may be some exceptions depending on what age your awning actually is. As we dont have any Rhinorack stuff here, we cant advise you with any certainty, and your best bet will be to get in contact with OzTent directly on 1800 698 368
Yes they do because we use them on our batwing!!
Hi, What is the best Floor Saver size for the RV4/RV3 Tagalong? I have an RV4 Floor Saver for the main tent but it wont stretch under the new Tagalong. Any ideas?
G'day Paul,
There are probably a few options you could go for to keep the floor of your Tagalong protected. The Oztrail Ultramesh Tarp is a good option, the 8 x 8ft size (2.44m x 2.44m) would probably be the best bet. The other option would be to grab an RV3 Mesh Floor Saver and put it under the Tagalong tent and the awning of the main RV4 tent, you'll just end up with a double layer in the awning if you do that.
Can you attach the Tagalong to the Oztent JV signature range to give addition sleeping area?
G'day Ian,
I've just double checked with Oztent and the Tagalong Tents are not compatible with the JV Signature range.
Oztent advised me: Yes, the Oztent JV Signature Edition Tent will connect to a Tagalong 3 / 4 or with a RV-3 or RV-4 with an awning connector.
Thanks David, sorry for the delay, we've been waiting to hear back from Oztent regarding this. They've confirmed that yes, the JV will connect with the RV3/4 tagalong, however the JV zip in floor won’t attach using the tagalong and you would have remove the front panel.
Can we use a tag along with the oz tent eyre e-2? Which one would be get? The rv-5 version of tag along?
G'dau Rebecca,
I've just called Oztent and they indicated that the Tagalong Tents are not compatible with the Eyre model tents.
Hi I’m replying to my question in fact they can be used and have the same zipper. We have the tag along 3/4 attached to our eyre e-2. It’s not a perfect fit but zips on and have been in 3 winter camps with the whole set up. No leaks and stayed up in hurricane winds.
Can you get the awning as an extra so the tagaling can be set up as a stand alone tent
G'day Jason,
You won't be able to use the Tagalong Tent standalone. They will require an RV tent or Vehicle awning to connect to help them up.
So if you were to purchase the awning and use guy ropes etc off the awning and poles would it still not do the same as zipping it to the other tent
G'day Jason,
If you are referring to attaching the Tagalong tent to a vehicle awning then yes the Tagalog can use the structure of the awning to keep it held up, but there's no 'off-the-shelf joiner for this. You'll need something that is compatible with the zip on the Tagalong tent on one side and a sail track on the other. The standard Oztent Caravan Connectors don't work for the Tagalong tent as the zippers run in the wrong direction. The only exception is the Rhino-Rack Sunseeker awning which will attach directly to a Tagalong tent. Please give us a call on 1300 914 007 if this doesn't make sense and I can explain it over the phone for you :)
I would like to be able to store gear in the central area
G'day Natasha,
Unfortunately, there is no way to completely waterproof the front awning area of the RV tent range. If you have the side panels and awning connector set up it will provide a fair amount of weather protection, but it would be wise to store things that might be prone to damage inside the tent during adverse weather.
I would like to put both tents up separately when our kids are older
G'day Natasha,
Thanks for the question. If you're wanting to know whether you can connect two RV5 tents together, then yes you can, you'll just need the RV Awning Connector. However, if you're wanting to know whether you can connect/use two RV5 Tagalong tents together then this won't work. The Tagalong tent requires the RV tent to attach to and provide structural stability.
Hi what would’ve the best size floor saver for the RV5 Tagalong? Thanks!
G'day Jimmy,
The Oztent RV-5 Mesh Floor Saver will fit under the RV5 Tagalong width-wise, however length-wise you might end up with lots of extra overlap as the RV5 tent itself is much deeper and obviously has an awning. If you're butting up to an RV-5 or a car awning the extra length should be fine.
I read somewhere that the rv5 zippers run the opposite direction to the rx5, so just wanted to make sure that the rx5/rv5 tagalong can attach to both tents. Also, can it be used in conjunction with the rx5 sunroom? Thanks!
G'day Lindsey,
Unfortunately, the zips run in opposite directions with the Oztent RV & RX Tents. So whilst you'll have no worries attaching an Oztent Tagalong Tent to the RV, you won't be able to zip them on to the RX.
What size stretchers (Oztent) would be the best fit for 2 kids inside this tent?
G'day Karen,
I would say that your best bet for a couple of Oztent stretchers to go with your Oztent Tagalong Tent would be to look at the Oztent Goanna Stretcher.
Hi, is this tent compatible with the rhino rack sunseeker 2.5 awning? Thank you
G'day Tony,
The Tagalong Tents are only compatible with the Rhino-Rack Sunseeker Awnings as the zips are compatible. They don't work with an awning that has a sail track as there is no suitable connector for this.
I have a Rhino Rack Sun-seeker 2.5 awning. Which Tagalong would suit the awning RV3/4 or RV5?
G'day Max,
We'd suggest the RV3/4 Tagalong as the RV5 will likely be a tad too wide to work with your awning.
Is there a zip attachment i can get that will let me attach a tagalong tent to a RV2 or an extra awning i can purchase....
G'day Bryn,
I have just spoken with Oztent about your query, and they have said that there isn't an accessory available to enable you to attach a Tagalong tent to an RV2 as they are not designed to be used together.
There used to be a Tagalong RV2 tent, but that one was discontinued and is no longer available Bryn, so I'm sorry we couldn't give you a more positive answer.
Can the tagalong tent attach to an RV2 tent.
G’day Bryn,
Unfortunately Oztent only make the Tagalong tent in a RV3/4 and RV5 size, so neither are going to fit with the RV2 tent.
I have a rv3 oztent,the width is 2.4,but the tagalong is 2mtrs wide.will it fit? Cheers
G'day Bob,
The RV3/4 model Tagalong tent is made to be compatible with the RV3, so the 2.4m length will be the side that faces the tent so it should fit perfectly. If you have a squiz at the 6th image listed above you can see how the dimensions will be compatible.
Hi! Can you attach the TagaLong to the Oztent Foxwing Awning? And would I need an Awning Connector?
G'day Jessica,
I've just confirmed this with Oztent, and they have told me that you can only use the Tagalong RV5 with the Foxwing Awning (not the RV3-4 size), and that the Tagalong will zip directly onto the Foxwing without an awning connector.
Unfortunately, the only awning that the Tagalong Tent attaches directly to is the Rhino Rack Sunseeker as it has a compatible zip. The use of an Oztent Caravan Connector will not work as the zippers run in opposite directions when used with the Tagalong tent. I guess you could custom make something but you'd need to match the zip with the Oztent zip.
We want to buy a tagalong to attach to our existing Oztent. However, can it be set up to stand on its own, or must it always be attached to another tent or awning?
I'm looking to purchase the tagalong fly. My tagalong is short the two guy ropes on the back corners of the tent. If I have the fly on will it be necessary to have the tent guys out as well as the fly guys?
Hi Would it be possible to fit the Tag along tent to a small campervan using the Caravan Connector? We already have Oztent 4 etc, but it’s too much to set up and carry just for an overnighter.
Unfortunately, the Caravan Connector isn't compatible with the Tagalong tent as the zips run in the wrong direction, you would attach it but the Caravan Connector would be on upside down.
The only other product, apart from Oztent RV tents, that the Oztent Tagalong Tents will attach to is the Sunseeker Awning from Rhine Rack, as these have the correct zipper set-up.
is it possible to attach an RV5 Tagalong to a OZtrail gazebo Deluxe (3x3). I really want an OZtent RV5 but can't justify the $1000 price tag for the amount of camping i do. But $490... that's do-able!! it's just the top zip part that i'm worried about, it can velcro to the side poles easy enough. Cheers!
