Staff tip:We recommend the Exped Mini Pump to assist with full inflation, and to avoid breathing any moisture into the mat. This mat requires extra time to inflate when setting up for the first time (we suggest 1 − 2 days).
No, it's not. We've received lots of positive feedback about this mat, and noise has never been mentioned as an issue. Because its a self-inflating mat, and filled with foam, it won't be noisy like inflated air-filled mats can be. Hope that helps.

Sleeping on Snow 1 answer
Hello I have a planned trip to the snowy's in which I'll be sleeping in a tent on the snow. Would this mat be able to deal with those conditions? Thanks Costi
Shaul Costis - Sydney(6 years ago)
G'day Shaul,
The Sim Lite 3.8M Sleeping Mat has an r-value of 3.2 which will keep you warm down to about -5'C so we'd say you'll be ok. If you wanted to be sure that you'll be toasty in the snow the Synmat 7LW might be a good option with an R-value of 4.9 and -17'C.

Exped SIM Lite 3.8 LW?1 answer
Hi, I was wondering if you are able to get the 3.8 LW model in store? It's available on the Exped website but I'd prefer to buy through Snowy's if possible. Thanks!
Bill - Adelaide(6 years ago)
G'day Bill,
Thanks for getting in touch. At this point in time, we're only ranging the Sim Lite 3.8 in the M model. Unfortunately, we have to order the Expewd mats in bulk quantities about 6 months in advance so we wouldn't be able to get a 3.8LW for you. Sorry Bill :(

Time to inflate?1 answer
Hi there I was wondering how long the mattress takes to inflate?
Also can you leave it packed up or should I leave it inflated when not in use?
Thanks for your help best wishes Karl
Karl Webb - Fadden Canberra (7 years ago)
G'day Karl,
When you first get a new Exped SIM Lite 3.8 M Sleeping Mat, we suggest that you leave it with the valve open for a good few hours to expand the foam for the first time. Beyond that, it should only take a few minutes for the foam to expand out to its full potential each time you use it.
