Durable 75D polyester fabric is laminated to lightweight PU foam that has been cored in two directions to create a mat that provides reliable insulation and outstanding comfort. Featuring dual flat valves for inflation and deflation and boasting a petite pack size, the SIM Lite 3.8 M is the answer to a quality all-round sleeping mat. Exped is an innovative Swiss brand who stand by the quality of their products, which is why each Exped mat is individually tested for airtight integrity prior to shipment.

All mats are designed to withstand 5 times the pressure attained during normal inflation, and they back their products with a 5-year warranty.

Is it noisy when moving around during the night?

G'day Chris,

No, it's not. We've received lots of positive feedback about this mat, and noise has never been mentioned as an issue. Because its a self-inflating mat, and filled with foam, it won't be noisy like inflated air-filled mats can be.

G'day Shaul,

The Sim Lite 3.8M Sleeping Mat has an r-value of 3.2 which will keep you warm down to about -5'C so we'd say you'll be ok. If you wanted to be sure that you'll be toasty in the snow the Synmat 7LW might be a good option with an R-value of 4.9 and -17'C.

Thanks for getting in touch. At this point in time, we're only ranging the Sim Lite 3.8 in the M model. Unfortunately, we have to order the Expewd mats in bulk quantities about 6 months in advance so we wouldn't be able to get a 3.8LW for you. Sorry Bill :(

G'day Karl,

When you first get a new Exped SIM Lite 3.8 M Sleeping Mat, we suggest that you leave it with the valve open for a good few hours to expand the foam for the first time. Beyond that, it should only take a few minutes for the foam to expand out to its full potential each time you use it.
