Restore the PU coating on your gear to its former glory with some help from Seam Grip TF Fabric Sealant from Gear Aid.
The waterproofing on gear such as your tent, pack, fly or tarp will wear off, become sticky, or start to delaminate over time, which is where this Seam Grip TF comes in. It cures to a flexible waterproof seal, is water based and non-toxic, and is unaffected by extreme outdoor temperatures. This sealant dries down clear so you can barely see it, and is suitable for use on polyester, nylon, canvas, vinyl and other outdoor fabrics.
Seam Grip TF also has a built-in foam applicator brush to make it a breeze to apply it to your gear, so you can have it field-ready again in a jiffy.

What approximate area can be waterproofed with one bottle?
G'day Martin,
One 4 fl oz (118ml) bottle treats up to 85 sq ft (7m2) of material to waterproof your gear.
Hi the inner of my Zempire trilogy has become sticky and flaky (poly oxford). Do I need to get rid of all the old coating before I use this product?
G'day Michael,
Yes, you would need to remove all of the old coating and clean and dry the fabric before using this product. There is a great video here on How To Re-Waterproof Your Tent that explains the process of doing this!
hi, would this be suitable to reseal the outer fly on a Coleman 6person instant-up tent? purchased about 4-5 years ago but now getting drips through the fly seams in heavy rain.
G'day Scott,
The waterproofing on a tent fly is inside the fly, not the outside.
Check out our instructional video How to Re-Waterproof Your Tent Fly for more information on what you need to do, and what you need to do it!
Hi, Just wondering if this or one of your other products would work to re proof the fabric of my tent floor. It is allowing moisture through now due to age. I’ve re done the seals but it’s the fabric itself that’s letting the moisture thru.
G'day Waz,
If your tent floor is polyester then this should do the trick, unfortunately, we're not familiar with the materials used on Mountain Designs tents, so it's hard to be sure.
Hi there, is this the correct sealant to use on the seams of my MSR hubba fly where the wax coating has started to flake off quite badly? Thank you.
G'day Keira,
If its specifically for the seams, I'd recommend Seam Grip WP Sealer & Adhesive or Seam Grip SIL Silicone Tent Sealant.
The Seam Grip TF Tent Fabric Sealant is recommended more for the thin layer of polyurethane coating on the underside of the fabric itself.
Hope that helps!
Would this work with the fabric used on the Coleman deluxe 3x3 gazebo roof? If so, how many bottles do you think I'll need? Thanks.
G'day Tim,
According to Gear Aids website each bottle of Seam Grip TF Tent Fabric Sealant will cover 7m2, so I'd have a stab at 2 bottles? Best to measure up your canopy though, just to be sure.
