Can you use this stove with the small green companion propane bottles? If so can you buy a converter/hose? Thanks
G'day Michael,
No, you can't use this stove with the small green propane bottles, they are not compatible.
Do you have a POL bayonet to 3/8SAE 3 metre hose that works with this stove and if so what's the best price you can do me for the stove and hose?
G'day Graham,
If you want to connect this stove to a caravan Bayonet system you will need the Companion Bayonet to 3/8” SAE Low−Pressure Gas Hose which has a 300cm size. Get in touch with us via email at service@snowys.com.au or call us on 1300 914 007 and we can see what we can do!
I used this unit at a camping site. The wind affected the burners to no end. Are there any windshields available for sale to cover the sides and the back (fully opened/large opening along the bottom back)
G'day Hugo,
The Companion Large Windshield might be the go, and should be tall enough and large enough to fully protect your stove.
This would be ideal for a Caravan without the legs for those who have a side drop-down table on their van. However the rear gas fitting prevents this. Is there an option for this to have a side gas fitting by any chance?
G'day Luke,
Unfortunately, there is just the one design with the rear gas attachment fitting. All of the caravan compatible stoves I can think of that we currently sell are the same. I'm not too sure why that is the case sorry.
Just wondering if the burners can be turned low to allow for simmering or if it is high heat similar to the wok burners?
G'day Andrea,
The RV Stove & Grill has a fairly low overall heat output, and has some degree of adjustment, so you'll be able to bring the temperature down quite low, but I'd say it is more of a rapid simmer than a true simmer.
Looks ideal for using on a drop down table on my caravan, can i use it without the legs
G'day Rod,
Yes, we have a cast iron plate you can pop on top to cook eggs etc, the 3 Burner Gas Cooker Plate is the best fit for this stove model. You can use this stove on a table top without the legs attached if you'd prefer.
Hi , so is this particular stove a low pressure stove? Regards Marty..
G'day Martyn,
Yes the RV Stove & Grill is a low-pressure stove.
Does this have side wind guard protectors, or do you sell or recommend wind guard/protectors that will fit this stove.
G'day Jenny,
The Companion RV Stove & Grill doesn't come with any side wind guards, however, the lid acts as a rear shield, and the burners sit just below the sides so are a little protected. We don't sell any separate shields that will suit this unit.
Just purchased this stove, thank you. Which bag is suitable for this stove please.
G'day Heather,
I've just tried it out and the Companion RV Stove & Grill will fit well inside the Oztrail 3 Burner Stove & BBQ Plate Bag.
**Update 18/6/20 - Unfortunately we're no longer able to get our hands on these bags.
This one looks great but it is a bit too high when folded (200 mm).
G'day Jose,
If you're looking for a low-pressure double cooker, then your only real option would be to go for the Companion Double Burner Cooker.
I wonder if the wide space under the burners is suitable to store stuff like kitchen utensils? I realise that is the area that gets hot when you grill so you would have to take things out. Are there exposed hoses and/or cables that could be damage while taveling with something tucked in that area? Thank you!
G'day Jose,
I wouldn't recommend using the space under the burners on the Companion RV Stove & Grill for storage when you're using the stove, no. That compartment is the grill and is designed to get quite hot. When it transit or not in use, then you can use the shelf for storage but I'd recommend that you empty it out before using the stove.
Stove without the grill but stil with regulator?
No grill but with the regulator
G'day Robert,
The Companion RV Stove and Grill is a brand new product from Companion. As yet, they haven't released the model without the grill but that isn't to say they won't in the future. I can pass on your request to them so they are aware of the interest if you'd like?
