Stretch out for an overnight hang out with the Dometic Pico FTC 2x2 TC Inflatable 2-Person Swag.
The integrated inflatable mattress adds comfort and convenience to the Dometic Pico, for couples or solo campers. The frame is both durbale and inflatable, using airframe technology that allows inflation from only 1 external point. A polycotton construction reduces condensation and regulates the interior temperature, while keeping windows and doors fully sealed protects against the elements and unwanted pests. Packing down to a backpack-style carry bag weighing only 10.9kg, transporting the swag on foot - near and far - needn’t be a worry. Conveniently included are a pump, alloy poles, a peg pack, a repair kit, and a carry bag.
The Dometic Pico FTC 2x2 TC Inflatable 2-Person Swag is your compatible camping companion.

Staff tip:It's best practice to season your swag a few times, even if it comes seam sealed, pre−seasoned, or waterproofed. For more info, check out our blog post below
G'day! Currently running an Oztent RS1 and I'm finding that it's getting far too much condensation even with every thing fully open on the swag. Is dometics claim that the weathershield TC breathes more and reduces condensation valid? I don't want to buy a new swag and end up with the same issue. Cheers!
Drue - Corlette, NSW (7 months ago)
G'day Drue,
Its an excellent question, but not one we can answer for sure without getting real life feedback from customers! At this stage its a fairly new product so we're yet to get a good feedback base on these. Based on Dometics information, the fabric should be more breathable, but materials alone can't combat condensation. The biggest trick is having an addition 'skin' so setting your swag up under a fly shelter for example, can make a massive difference.
Based on all the info I have, I'd say that the material combined with good condensation management would give you a better outcome than the RS1

R value of sleeping pad?1 answer
Do you know the R value of the built in sleeping pad?
Nick - Brighton, QLD (10 months ago)
G'day Nick,
To the best of our knowledge, this has not been tested as of yet. If you want to give the R-Value a boost, you can add a survival blanket under the mat if you are heading somewhere a little cooler.

Seasoning1 answer
Hi. Does the swag require seasoning prior to use? Just like a traditional canvas swag.
Craig - Balintore, VIC(1 year ago)
G'day Craig,
Yes, it is recommended to season this swag before use. This is a polycotton blend and it will help to expand the fibres and seal the small holes from the manufacturing process, once seasoned and dried thoroughly, it will keep you dry in the rain. There is a blog we've written on Seasoning Your Swag which gives some helpful info!

Stretcher1 answer
Would you recommend stretcher use? What stretcher would you recommend?
Faz - Manly, NSW(1 year ago)
G'day Faz,
You could definitely use the Pico with a stretcher, just bear in mind that most double stretchers will have a central bar running down the middle so that can cause discomfort unless you are adding in a larger, thicker mat. Any double stretcher around 140cm wide would work, there isn't necessarily a specific one better suited. You'll also need taller awning poles to set up the verandah.

Footprint1 answer
Do you need recommend a footprint with this swag? If so, what product.
Paul - Seaford Rise, SA (1 year ago)
G'day Paul,
The use of a footprint or groundsheet is personal preference, but alot of people find they have a better camping experience when they use one. The footprint of the Pico is 215 x 140, so any kind of ground mesh that's close to that size would be suitable. Check out the Oztrail Ultramesh for a great universal option. You may want to go with a wider groundsheet if you'd like the awning area covered as well.

Mattress comfort1 answer
How would you rate the comfort of this mattress vs something like the 23Zero Dual Swag? Will there be some bounce of the air mattress with 2 people? Also for a 2 week trip how do you think comfort and ease of use would compare to 23Zero? Thanks
Brad - Albany, WA (1 year ago)
G'day Brad,
I'm always in two minds when I get comfort related questions, as comfort is such a subjective thing and I dont want to give anyone a bumsteer. There's going to be about as much bounce in the Pico mat as you would expect from a 4.5cm honeycomb inflatable. The main thing ultimately is that there wont be much insulation. Id still personally put it above an average swag foam mat though.
My only thoughts on this question really is that regardless of what swag you go with, a mattress can be changed, and an upgrade is something that 90% of people will do. So when looking at what to go with, decide on what features you want that ultimately cant be changed. The main differences between the Pico and something more traditional like the Dual swag is the overall pack size and weight, and set up/pack away time. The Pico is lighter and smaller when packed up, and sets up in a matter of seconds, so if the style of travelling your doing is moving to different spots every few days, that may be something to consider.
The other element is overall design. The Pico is more squared off in shape which means you'll have alot more functional internal space compared to a hooped swag. The weight of the canvas on a hooped swag can also mean the side sag in abit which can cut into internal space even more. You get nice big end windows with broad coverage eve which give you loads of ventilation & a bit of a view on the Pico, where as the Dual swag has abit more restriction on the windows at either end.
The Pico only has an entry on one side, so that may be a consideration, and it will need to be seasoned before you head off - especially if you're expecting rain. The Dual swag has double entry, and comes seam sealed, etc. Whilst its recommended to be seasoned, you could get away without it.
Hope that helps.

12v Pump1 answer
Is there a compatible 12v (or rechargeable) pump you would recommend for use with the Pico swag?
Sarah - Melbourne, VIC(1 year ago)
Dometic make a pump called 'Gale 12V Pump', but we currenlty don't stock it. It allows you to preset the PSI, it is bulky and expensive though. You could use other 12V pumps you just need to make sure you have a suitable fitting and that it cannot over-inflate the tubes.
That being said, it's pretty easy to use the included hand pump.

Pack Down With Sleeping Bags1 answer
Would this swag be able to pack down and fit in it's bag with a couple of lightweight (~0 degree) sleeping bags left inside?
Paul - Adelaide, SA (1 year ago)
G'day Paul,
I don't think it will actually. Because of its light weight and compact design, the Pico doesn't actually pack up like a normal swag, more like folding and rolling like you would with a tent. Take a look at our set up and pack away video on the product page for more info. I cant see how keeping sleeping bags inside it would be viable.

pegs required?1 answer
Does this need to be pegged down or can it be standalone if the awning is not required?
Ben - Adelaide, SA(1 year ago)
G'day Ben,
Like any swag or small tent option, it could be set up without pegs in a pinch, but we do recommend pegging them out to get the best shape and tension. This is especially important if you're expecting wind or rain. Hope that helps.

Pumping Up1 answer
Could you use a compressor or would the air be too hot for the tent
Paul - Goondiwindi, QLD(1 year ago)
G'day Paul,
You probably could use a compressor, but its nt something we've used before. You'd probably want to use one with a lower working PSI & just be really conscious of not overinflating the tubes. Bare in mind it would literally take no more than 2-3 minutes to inflate manually, so it's not like it's a mammoth effort otherwise.

Matt size. 1 answer
Hello Would the Darche Kozi Queen fit inside. It’s 1480mm wide. Thanks.
Andrew - Canungra, QLD(1 year ago)
G'day Andrew,
It's abit to wide for this swag, sorry! The standard camping self-inflating double mat is 132cm wide - these would be a better option, and basically cover most other options except the Kozi!
