Anita - Moe, VIC(8 months ago)
G'day Anita,
I've just double checked this and our dimensions are the same. The Oztent site dimensions you've quoted actually line up with the Goanna Stretcher - where as you've looked at the King Goanna on Snowys website. They're two different stretchers with a slightly different name, easily confused! Hope that helps.

Will a 23zero bandit fit?1 answer
Hi, I’m considering purchasing stretcher to go with a bandit swag. Will this be a suitable size?
Chris - Sydney, NSW(1 year ago)
G'day Chris,
This stretcher would be best suited to a 900-wide swag as the width of this comes to about 92cm, so the Bandit 900 would be a good fit! The 1100 swags would have a lot of overhang on this stretcher, the Oztent RS−1S King Single Stretcher Series II would be better suited to the 1100-sized swags.

stretcher bed1 answer
would you use a foam mattress on top or just as is?. if a mattress what thickness?
Michelle - Elanora Heights, NSW(1 year ago)
G'day Michelle,
It depends entirely on the individual. Alot of people use the stretcher just as it is, and theres absolutely no problem doing that. You can also use them with a mattress if you want. Some people go with lighter self-inflating hiking style mats, some people go with big 10-15cm thick mats. It really depends on personal preference and comfort. Theres no reason why you couldn't start off with just the stretcher and see how that goes, adding a mattress later on if you needed. Thicker mattresses tend to provide a bit of insulation if you are doing a lot of winter camping, you can check out our range here. Sag1 answer
I have the series 1 of this stretcher, after 2 weeks use, the middle has so much sag it’s now extremely uncomfortable to use. I’m only 85kg so nothing too extreme. I’m up for a new stretcher, is the series 2 better made or should I be looking for a different model?
Nathan - Glenning Valley, NSW(1 year ago)
G'day Nathan,
I've been over the 93 customer reviews we had on the original model, and only one person referenced the stretcher sagging, so it certainly wasn't a known issue. Stretchers or any framed fabric camping gear like chairs, etc will experience some level of material stretching with use, but I think whether or not it's a problem comes down to personal comfort. The series 2 is essentially the same materials and design, with only a color change, and the addition of a hanging storage pocket.
Without seeing photos of your stretcher, it sounds like what would be normal sag of the fabric isn't right for your comfort. If that's the case I'm not aware of any stretcher model that doesn't sag at all. Potentially this could be offset with a 10-15cm self-inflating mat.

Suit Oztent RS1 single swag...?1 answer
HI - will the Goanna stretcher bed fit with the RS1 swag, or only the Oztent RS1 king single stretcher....? Thanks
Toby - Aldinga, SA (1 year ago)
G'day Toby,
The RS-1 stretcher is recommended, it's just that extra bit longer and wider to better supper the swag frame. Hope that helps.

Mattress1 answer
Would the Darche 900 all terrain mattress or the Darche Kozi King Single that is 80cms wide be more suited on top of this stretcher?
Louise - Madora Bay, WA(2 years ago)
G'day Louise,
I'd personally lean more towards the Kozi, it will fit better & is also a bit more flexible/softer external fabrics which is what you want with a stretcher combo. It will mould better with your body and the stretcher bed itself. The All Terrain is more rigid & dense, and is made of PVC - like the original self-inflating 4WD mats. Whilst its still a good choice, I feel like it's a better option for ground sleeping.

Sv5 max1 answer
G’day, We have a sv5 max, will the king goanna series 11 fit with a 10cm matress. Cheers
Darryl - Glengarry North, VIC (2 years ago)
G'day Darryl,
We dont have an SV-5 on display, so cant check this out in person. Going off measurements though, with everything all pegged out and good tent tension on the tent, you should have around 10cm of wiggle room.

Swag1 answer
Just wondering what size of swag would best fit on top of this stretcher, 900, 110 or neither?
Kev - Adelaide, SA(2 years ago)
G'day Kev,
The stretcher width is around 92cm wide, so ideally a 900 swag would be the way to go. An 1100 swag would still work, however, there will be quite a bit of overhang on either side. As you'll sleep firmly in the middle of the stretcher its unlikely to affect comfort at all, but the larger size would be unnecessary if you intend to only use with a stretcher.

Couplers1 answer
Hello! Do you think it would be feasible to use 2 of these strechers, with 2 of the Exped megamat 15 LXW joined with the exped coupler? Or do you think the edges would be too high for that to work? Keen to find a solution to being slightly off the ground. We didn't like the feeling of instability on the queen size strechers so hoping the above will work. Appreciate any advice. Thanks
Daniel - Burpengary East, QLD (2 years ago)
G'day Daniel,
The exped mat coupler is designed to keep two mats together on the floor, to stop them from separating when being used as a double. When you are using stretchers there's no need to use a coupler, in fact, it may make the comfort worse by preventing the two mattresses from sitting properly on the individual stretchers. Two single stretchers together is a bit different from one double sized stretcher, there's a much larger gap as the side rails cant join up tightly to one another - your probably looking at a good 15-20cm between them when looking at the functional stretcher fabric section, and that's as close as you can get them. Your best bet, if you are wanting to set up like this, would be to just have the stretchers nested together, each with a mattress on top, and using individual bedding.

With Exped mat in Oztent RV5+ 1 answer
Hi there, would this 10cm mat fit with this stretcher placed front to back in the Oztent RV5 ? I saw that you advise that the stretcher fits snugly but would it still work with the extra 10cm mat on top and a pillow?
Karen - Mount Gambier, SA (2 years ago)
G'day Karen,
Unfortunately, it won't - technically the only stretcher that you can fit in with the 10cm mattress on top without touching the walls is the Oztrail Low Stretcher.

Comparison to series 11 answer
What are the differences between the series 1 and this series 2?
Andrew - Gold Coast Mc, QLD (3 years ago)
G'day Andrew,
They've upgraded the fabric with different colours and a slightly higher denier, plus they've added the two storage pockets - one on each side.
