Does this tape have a backing film which you peel off before adhering to the job?
G'day Heather,
No, the Heavy Duty Awning Repair Tape doesn't have a peel-off backing. It is on a roll, similar in style to standard tape on a roll.
Hi my darche awning is developing small holes. Is this the best tape to use for patching so the awning is still flexible enough to fold up ?
G'day Helen,
Yep, absolutely. This repair tape is a great option for getting on top of those small holes, we recommend putting a piece on both sides of the canvas for longevity.
RV Awning Repair Tape sounds like it could be a good solution for the tear in my oztrail gazebo roof...what do you think?
G'day Sue,
The RV Repair Tape is designed to repair heavy duty awnings, so it should be ok to repair your Gazebo. We do also sell K Tape which is what we'd generally recommend for Gazebo repairs.
Can this tape be applied if the vinyl is wet?
G'day Alice,
I've double-checked and there isn't specific information, however the general rule of thumb with repair tape is to apply it to a clean and dry surface.
Have an old 80s jayco canvas pop up with a 3inch long tear - will this hold long term to canvas or is it more for vinyls etc
G'day Su,
I've just double checked the packaging, and this tape can definitely be used on canvas and is designed to resist tearing but doesn't state that it's a long term repair solution. In our reviews section other customers have found it works well on ahering to their awnings, however. Hope that helps, Su!
Hi there, We have a few small holes to patch on our Black Wolf tent floor (older version). Can this be used effectively to patch the tent floor holes? Which is more effective - Lifesafe RV Repair, Tear-Aid Tpye A or Tear-Aid B Type B? Which would you recommend out the 3?
G'day Karen,
Thanks for your enquiry. If the holes are quite small, you could probably use the Gear Aid Seam Grip WP Sealer & Adhesive to mend your tent floor. If you think you'll need something to cover a larger area, the Tear-Aid Type A Fabric Repair Tape will do the trick.
The discription does not mention vinyl. All photos appear to be fabric
G'day Nigel,
I've doubled checked the packaging and whilst they don't specifically say vinyl they list sails, canvas, awnings, rainwear, tents,
Used the RV tape to repair caravan awning it had slightly frayed allowing rain to seep through. After one month the tape started to simply fall apart. Exceptionally difficult to get off as it comes off in little bits. Absolutely useless and has created a real problem to get it off.
