I’m really liking the JetBoil Genesis system what fuel do you recommend?
G'day Ashley,
The Genesis is designed for use with the 468g disposable propane canisters, they're are all pretty much the same across the brands. Alternately you can run them from a larger bottle using a BOM to 3/8" BSP or BOM to LCC27 hose. Overall we find most people stick with the smaller disposable canisters, as it will give you a nice compact setup.
What is the psi of this regulator
G'day Karina,
The regulator on the Jetboil Genesis is 105KPa or 15.3PSI.
Do you have a hose that can connect this to a gas bottle with an LCC27 fitting?
G'day John,
We've had this question before so I'll check the answer below:
We've reached out to Jetboil in the US, here's their response:
"The adapter hose that is purchased MUST be connected to the regulator. You cannot bypass the regulator. Here is what we tell our customers in the US:
You must connect the stock regulator to the Fuel input Port on the stove as normal. The top-end of the adapter hose will then get secured to the regulator. NOTE: the hose must not have an in-line regulator. The lower end of the hose should be connected directly to the bulk tank threads...again...NO additional regulator.
I highly recommend taking the original Propane Regulator arm that comes with the stove to a reputable propane supply store (they're specialists!) and tell them you need a thread adapter hose for connecting the regulator to a standard 20 lb. Tank valve. They should be able to help in selecting the hose and they might even offer such a hose in different lengths.
When all connections are made and leak-testing has been performed on all connections to confirm there is no fuel leakage, slowly open the tank valve to charge the hose/system. This should only take a moment and then you may proceed to open the tank valve fully. From there, refer to the user manual for normal operation of the stove.
As with all propane connections of this type, the system should be disconnected after use to relieve back pressure on the internal regulator components."
Based on this info, grab one of these hoses for 3/8th BSP bottles, or these for POL/LCC27 cylinders (I've tried it out in person just now), and just be mindful of the considerations, and precautions, as mentioned above.
Is there a grill plate accessory that will fit? Something like the Coleman HyperFlame Grill Plate... maybe that one could be made to fit? I like the idea that it would catch some of the mess
G'day Alex,
There's not, no. Jetboil don't make any accessories like this which would be cool. Given the unique round shape, there isn't an aftermarket alternative that would work either - sorry!
Can the stove be attached to a standard 4kg cylinder?
