Storage while travelling1 answer
How should these be stored on long trips?
Blue - Sydney, NSW(1 month ago)
G'day Blue,
Any gas is best stored outside of your vehicle where possible, just incase there's an unidentified leak, but that's not always achievable. Check out our podcast on Managing & Carrying Gas for Camping.

Temperature range of Profuel1 answer
Hi. Does this fuel work in really low temperatures such as below zero?
Petra - Canberra, ACT(1 year ago)
G'day Petra,
Yes, Propane or LPG fuel performs perfectly fine at colder temperatures. According to google you're fine down to around -40ºc.

Hose attachment?1 answer
I have a stove with the rigid arm fitting for these canisters but the canister sits too far back to sit on my camp kitchen. Is there a hose attachment or adapter to connect these BOM bottles to the end of the rigid arm?
Paul - Narre Warren, VIC (1 year ago)
G'day Paul,
As far as I'm aware there isn't. You'd basically be looking for a BOM to BOM hose just to extend the length. I am wondering whether or not these arent available, as there may be a pressure loss issue with the gas from those small disposable bottles if it has to travel a further distance.

Cooking hours1 answer
Hi, Approx how many hours of cooking time would this provide (using a Coleman Hyperflame - or other 2 burner stove). Would it survive a week long trip (cooking 2-3 meals a day)
Daniel - Seven Hills, NSW(1 year ago)
G'day Daniel,
It depends entirely on the stove's output, and what the stated gas consumption rates are. Not every brand provides a gas consumption spec, but if they do it would be in the original manual or your stove, or could possibly be googled. We know the Coleman Hyperflame stoves run for about 1.5hr off one 468g Propane cylinder, for example. Whilst these are smaller and may seem convenient, they're non-disposable single use cylinders & take up alot of room when you have to pack a few. We generally recommend going with a refillable LPG option, they come in a range of sizes, so if you're needing something more compact, a 2-3kg bottle would do the trick, no worries.

Compatability1 answer
Is this bottle suitable for a Coleman Peak1 stove?
Derek - Lilydale, VIC(2 years ago)
G'day Derek,
No, it's not. The Peak1 has a Lindal valve which is the gas connection used for hiking stoves. You can find the range of suitable gas canisters here, making sure you're selecting the ones with the screwable Lindal valve top.

Compatibility 1 answer
Will this work as a back up for a Webber baby Q ???
Chris - Geraldton, WA(2 years ago)
G'day Chris,
It won't, I'm sorry - these only connect to BOM/UNEF gas connections which generally come with Coleman stoves & a select amount of other camp stove. I believe Webbers come with POL connection (moving to LCC27) so they need a proper LPG gas bottle.

How do you dispose of these items?1 answer
Can these Companion Pro:Fuel propane gas cartidges be recycled, or do they end up in landfill? What is the correct process for disposing them?
Matt - Magill, SA(3 years ago)
G'day Matt,
Most recycling centres can take old gas bottles, which these ones are classified as...its just a matter of contacting your a few in your local area to confirm if they're happy to take them. recyclesa.com.au is a great place to start - Not sure about websites for other states.

Gas stove1 answer
Hi Snowys team, can this be used with the Coleman Hyperflame? Or is it only compatible with a companion gas stove?
Louise - Melbourne, VIC(3 years ago)
G'day Louise,
Yep, the Coleman stoves work with a BOM fitting, which these bottles have. Hope that helps!
