Darche 2.5 eclipse slimline1 answer
What is the Beaufort rating of this awning
John - Sydney, NSW(4 weeks ago)
G'day John,
Darche only provide a Beaufort rating on their Eclipse Freestanding awnings, there's no rating provided on the rest of their range. As long as you have this one pegged out well, and have a few tension springs to help in windy conditions, you should largely be ok in most scenarios.

What is the colour
Tyrese - Gold Coast, QLD(4 months ago)
G'day Tyrese,
The awning colour is the standard Darche green canvas just like their other awnings and swags. Hope that helps.

Fitting to Yakima Cargo Platform1 answer
Would I be able to fix this Darche awning to a Yakima LNL Platform (model 'A' at https://www.yakima.com.au/roof-racks/lockn-load-platform ) using the Darche bracket supplied, or would I have to also purchase a couple each of the Long Bracket https://www.snowys.com.au/eclipse-180-270-long-l-bracket and the Chanel Bolt Set https://www.snowys.com.au/channel-bolt-set-2-piece ? Thank you.
David - Macquarie Park NSW 2113(5 months ago)
G'day David,
You'll just need the channel bolt set - 2 packets. Because the roof rail channels on the platform run side to side, you wont need the long brackets, the standard brackets will mount normal like they would if you were using standard roof rails.

Re waterproof 1 answer
Hi Team, What is the best way to waterproof my Darche awning? I had to clean mould off it, now it doesn’t repel and just holds the water.
Keone - Clovelly, NSW (10 months ago)
G'day Keone,
If you have already cleaned the awning up I can recommend applying OZtrail Aqua Proof Waterproofer to restore the water repellency of the fabric!

Channels for Yakima rack fitting 1 answer
Can you please advise the distance between the two channels on the side of the awning that attaches to roof racks. I am looking at fitting with the Yakima easy off awning brackets which carry an awning up to 18kg. Thanks.
Jo - Boorowa, NSW(1 year ago)
G'day Jo,
We don't have the exact measurement sorry as we don't have one here on display. We can confirm that the spacing on the back of pullout awnings is fairly universal across most brands, which is roughly 40-52mm apart. According the the Yakima brackets you've mentioned, they are universal, so you wont have any issues.

Does it have sail track on both the car mounted side and the opposite side
Michael - Adelaide Bc, SA (1 year ago)
G'day Michael,
It has a sail track on the car mount side, and a sail track pointing directly down on the bottom edge of the backing plate. Hope that helps!

Fit2 answers
Hi Guys, will this awning attach to a Subaru Outback’s side roof rails ? 2021 Sport Model. This model does not have the integrated cross bars. Rob
Rob - Forestville, SA(2 years ago)
G'day Rob,
No, it won't. The awning can only attach to an actual roof rack system. As far as I'm aware, roof rails only function is to allow quick and easy attachment of roof rack systems, and don't actually have functional load-bearing capacity.
Lauren - Snowys(2 years ago)
Will the back of the Darche awning fit to a Yakima Easy off awning mount? If so these adapters can attached to an Outback’s roof rack system. https://www.yakima.com.au/easy-off-quick-release-awning-bracket

Mounting on high vehicles1 answer
I have limited height clearance for my prado 150 model to fit into my garage. I intend to install this awning on my Toyota Orem aero roof rack cross bars. Rather than installing with long side of L bracket pointing up which would not allow me to get through my garage, does this awning and its installation kit support installation with short side of L bracket pointing down (and so awning is bolted to short side of L bracket) so that there is enough clearance for driving the car into the garage. Thank you.
Panda - Adelaide Bc, SA (2 years ago)
G'day Panda,
Yep - all you need to do is turn the bracket upside down and bolts that way. There's no difference to the physical attachment point by re-orienting the brackets. Hope that helps.

Rhino Rack1 answer
Hi, just wondering if this fits straight onto a Rhino Rack pioneer rack or do I need special mounts? Cheers
Mark - Mitchell Park, SA (3 years ago)
G'day Mark,
We don't have any of the Snowys crew with the Pioneer platform racks, so if you have mounting channels on the platform, you'll need channel bolts. These come in a pack of 2, and can be found in the "You Might Also Like" section on the product page. You will need some additional supports of spacer accessories that you can get directly from Rhino Rack.

Mounting Brackets1 answer
What style of mounting brackets come with the awning?
Harrison - Wollongong, NSW(3 years ago)
G'day Harrison,
Its just the standard L bracket that comes with majority or side pull-out style awnings. The heavier duty T brackets are for 180/270 awnings.

New model1 answer
Hi, i'm wondering what the difference is between this awning and the previous version which i believe was just called the eclipse. Mostly i'd like to find out how much extra room the bag has, can you still fit the awning in if its not rolled perfectly tightly? And is there some spare space on either end of the bag? I'm hoping to continue jamming the guy ropes up in there as i did with my old awning. Thanks very much in advance for your help:)
Ethan - Parkes, NSW(4 years ago)
G'day Ethan,
I've included the old model Vs new model packed size comparison for you below. In terms of the space inside the bag, it's a tricky one to confirm, as we don't have a display model or any current stock to check for you. Based on what we've seen with previous models you might have a tiny bit of extra space for small incidentals like guy ropes etc, but aside from that, unfortunately, we're not able to get more information at this time.
