With 5m² of coverage, this awning is easy to set up with two people. The durable 200gsm Ripstop polycotton canvas fabric has a PU coating providing a 2000mm water rating, with UPF 50+ protection. The heavy-duty aluminium rafter poles and extendable twist-lock leg poles pack down and secure safely away within the twin channel profile. Everything you need is included within the kit bag – brackets, mounting bolts, guy ropes and pegs.

Darche’s KOZI Series 2 x 2.5M Side Awning suits a vehicle height between 1600-1950mm and comes with a 500gsm transit cover - so you can arrange shelter straight from the roof of your car.

Most side pull out awning set up the same, and I've personally had one in the past that I set up solo.
It's abit fiddley - atleast for the first few tries until you get the hang of it.

The awning is made from a Grey canvas - the underside which you can see in the photos is the same colour as the top of the awning.

We don't have one of these on display, but are pretty confident it doesn't - not like the Darche Eclipse pull-out awnings anyway.
You can what the product video around the 30 sec mark which shows a standard, not flexible, attachment point.

It is possible but it wouldn't be super easy. It may just take a few goes for you to work out the best process, and maybe a bit of a pain whilst you work that out, but it's definitely doable - especially if you've got good arm span - but if its windy, definitely not.
Ben has set up a 23Zero side pull out awning himself, and its basically the same process, so might be worth a watch here.

Comparison to Eclipse Slimline Awning1 answer

Apart from the ripstop material being 320gsm and the $80 increase in price, what is the difference between the Kozi and the Eclipse models from Darche?

Essentially they are the same awning, however the Eclipse has the higher grade canvas and also higher grade materials in the awning bag. Despite this though, the Kozi awning has a higher waterhead rating, which is interesting.
The only other difference is obviously the asthetics, with the Eclipse carrying that classic Darche look.

Hi just wondering if the extender tent will fit a 2 meter awning or will it need to be a 2.5

G'day Michael,

The Xtender is designed to work with a 2.5m awning. You'll be able to connect it via the sail track to a 2m awning, you'll just have an extra 50cm of tent that sticks out. If you don't have OCD and don't mind that, or you orient it to have 25cm on either side of the awning so it's not massively obvious, you'd be ok.

Awning fitment maximum overhang1 answer

Is there a maximum overhang length these awnings can have either in front or behind the roof racks? Probably a situation where less is best, but I have fixed mount roof racks with only 650mm between each the centre of each bar. Plus they sit further back on the car, so I'd be trying to bring the awning forward as much as possible. Haven't been able to find any information on this and would rather not have a new awning get ripped off the car while driving down the highway, so thought I'd ask before I buy.

This might possible suit, however it is difficult to know without measuring it up. The maximum unsecured length of the backing plate should not exceed 600, so based on your measurement you might not have enough length to make it work. We'd recommend taking some careful measurements, and consulting with Darche if you're worried you might not have enough length to support the awning.
