This one’s for the astronomers, the Darche Dusk To Dawn Swag features two large entries that roll completely open for an unimpeded view of the night sky.
The Dusk To Dawn is a freestanding swag that caters to all users and provides a comfortable sleeping space with a 7cm high-density foam mattress. Vents at both ends feature large storm flaps, and zippers inside allow access to the vestibule space above your head.
A heavy-duty PVC bucket floor provides protection from
Can you please tell me what the difference between the Dusk to Dawn Swag 900 and the Dusk to Dawn Swag 900 CP is?
G'day Murt,
The Dusk till Dawn CP range is the new model, which comes with composite poles, as opposed to the previous model which had aluminum poles.
Hi, do these fit on the Darche single stretchers?
G'day Kate,
Yes! Both Darche stretchers are 100cm wide, so can accommodate both their 900 swags, as well as their 100 swags with some overhang.
Hope that helps!
Hi Snowys I’ve been using this swag for a while now, matched with Darche XL stretcher. Fantastic combo. Thanks Snowys! I’m having trouble getting my swag back in the bag when leaving my sleeping bag inside the swag. Is there a bigger swag bag you could recommend that would fit a ‘fat’ dusk til dawn 900? Thanks very much
G'day Nick,
You could go the next size up, to the 1100 in the Outbound Bag option.
Hope that helps!
Does the Hutch Lite Swag Annex fit this swag?
G'day Jess,
The Hutch Lite is designed to fit the Dirty Dee 1100, which has a slightly different design and is a bit wider. They are a stand-alone item, so you could set up it close by to the Dusk to Dawn and use it to store gear etc, it just won't work together with the design and width of the Dusk to Dawn 900.
Hey guys, in the specs this says 70mm mattress but in the video Ben says 50mm. Just confirming mattress thickness?
G'day Adam,
Our original video was published in 2017, Darche have since upgraded the mattress in their swags so the advertised specifications are correct.
Deciding out of the Darche or the 23zero. Both have reviews about poles breaking. Are spare poles available for both of these swags if broken.
G'day Chris,
Yes, spare pole sets are available through Darche or 23 Zero.
Majority of issues with poles breaking has to do with tension issues, so make sure to take care when setting up the end poles that they are symmetrical and taking even load.
Hi Snowys, I'm looking to use this Swag with the exped megamat10 LXW and the darche XL 100 stretcher, will that all work? Cheers
G'day Barclay,
Yes, you can use the Exped 10LXW in the Dusk to Dawn 900, it won't quite take up the full space, but it will be a close fit. The Darche XL 100 stretcher is a good option to pair with this set up as well.
Howdy. Drives me nuts when swag bags don't fit their rolled up swag when there's the sleeping bag inside. Does the 900 swag bag, or all of the sizes for everyone else's interest, fit rolled up swag with sleeping bag inside?
G'day Fran,
The Dusk to Dawn Swags come with a fairly roomy bag and will generally fit back in the bag with a sleeping bag rolled inside (depends on the sleeping bag, and the rolling technique). We've found that the Darche sleeping bags will fit without any worries.
Can you please confirm the size of the swag set up in the video is the 900?
G'day Carl,
It sure is the 900 model, there are a few glimpses of the 900 printed on the canvas itself through the video too.
G'day, Are both ends able to be shut off with canvas and mesh windows? The old models could be but darche says the new ones are, can you confirm?
G'day Jackson,
I've just double-checked our display model and can confirm that there are dual-layer mesh and canvas windows so you can open them up for great ventilation.
How would this swag go in Australian winter with a stretcher?...would you recommend this set up (stretcher/swag) or a marmot fortress tent on the ground? I’m using a sea to summit -15 sleeping bag and a sea to summit comfort plus mat. Thank you
G'day Nermin,
If you're planning to go hiking then the Marmot Fortress will be the best option. If you're planning to camp from your car then the Dusk to Dawn 900 on a stretcher will be the best option.
Does this come with the awning poles included? Also, what sort of fastener do the roll up straps have (e.g. clip buckles or rings)? Thanks!
G'day Kimberley,
The Darche Dusk to Dawn Swag 900 doesn't come with the awning poles, they are sold separately but you can grab them here. As for the roll-up straps, they've got rings on them that you feed the straps through.
Hi im looking at buying this swag and i was wondering what stretchers you have that this would fit on.
G'day Logan,
The Oztrail Easy Fold Jumbo Stretcher would be a fantastic option - very easy to set up and super durable. The Darche Dusk Till Dawn 900 is 215 x 90 cm so the stretcher will come up 5cm short in the length, but this shouldn't worry you too much.
Can you please elaborate on what you mean by the stretcher comes up 5cm short? The way I read it, the swag is 215 long, but that stretcher is 217 long, so should be a perfect fit. Is that correct?
G'day Mick,
I'm guessing that at the time this previous question was answered we may have had different measurements for the stretcher. I can see that we now have Snowys verified information for the stretcher, whereas previously we may have been providing information based on the manufacturer's information, which isn't always correct. This swag and stretcher combination is a good option, and they suit each other quite well.
I didn't get a bag with my swag, do you sell them? I have a dusk to dawn 1100
G'day Grant,Â
The Darche Dusk to Dawn 1100 is supposed to come with a heavy duty canvas carry bag, so if you purchased your swag from us, please give us a call on 1300 914 007 so that we can help you out.Â
Darche don't sell the bag that comes with the Dusk to Dawn separately - but this swag is quite large so you would need a bigger bag like the AOS Swag Bag Double to accommodate the width of the Dusk to Dawn 1100.Â
