While the Compass Hat from Sunday Afternoons won’t point you in the correct direction, it will shield your face from those harsh UV rays.
This hat is made from UPF50+ rated fabric that’s also stain and water resistant and has mesh panels that can be opened or closed for ventilation. The smart brim design gives you plenty of shade around the front and extra at the back for your neck and is dark underneath to reduce glare. The wicking sweatband keeps perspiration out of your eyes, and this design floats so it won’t sink if you drop it into the water mid-adventure.
For day walks, gardening, or even sightseeing – the Sunday Afternoon Compass Hat will provide you with versatile sun protection.
Is this hat crushable or will stuffing it in my bag or backpack ruin it?

G'day Naomi,
The Compass Hat has quite a stiff brim, so if you're regularly stuffing it into a backpack you might find it will make the brim a little sloppy over time.

For wet weather1 answer
Are the Sunday afternoon hats suitable for sustained rain (hiking in New Zealand/Tassie)? They look good for warm weather with their venting panels but would this make them vulnerable in wet conditions?

G'day Alan,
The Compass Hat is a good option for warm weather with the venting as you've indicated. They are made from a water-resistant fabric so they'll be ok in showers, but you'll likely get a wet head in Tassie/New Zealand.
