It all started with a handmade blanket. Founded by Robbin and Angeline Lacy back in 1992, Sunday Afternoons has been providing outdoor lovers with stylish, comfortable and protective hats for over 25 years and counting.

With a background in sewing and a passion for making things for her kids, Angeline sewed a robust picnic blanket keep the whole family comfortable on their outdoor expeditions – which is how their first product – the Adventure Blanket was born. This blanket became so popular with family and friends, the couple decided to make a go of it – producing more to showcase and sell at local craft shows and festivals.

With plenty of scraps leftover from their blanket designs, they decide to use them to create a hat – and the rest is history. Named after their favourite time of the week to spend with their family, after their first hat design took off the business grew slowly, and currently produces a full range of outdoor hats and accessories.

Now, their kids work alongside their parents to design, distribute and market their family’s designs to the rest of the world.
