The upper is a breathable polycotton, while a water-resistant, easy clean base minimises moisture take-up from the ground.

Hi, Snowfolk! I have a lovely double-high airbed (yes, yes, I know, I know, but I really do *need* that extra height), plus an 8cm memory foam topper, plus underquilt then blankets, & *then* my actual bottom sheet, but I'm *still* concerned about the infamous heat-sink that the floor-level beneath can become for air-mattress sleepers, for reasons - & stakes (campun not intended) - of a pain condition that I have. I've been thinking maybe I need a barrier to go between my airbed and the floor^, just to be one extra layer at the very bottom there. Since its purpose would be so simple, and so invisible, I'm not looking to spend a lot of cash, & it seems to me like this mat might be just what the doctor ordered (or at least, the closest equivalent at my favourite outdoor store, which I now prefer to patronise whenever possible [here's lookin' at you, kids]). What do you think? Or is there some *different* mechanism I should employ, entirely? I know you guys won't do me dirty; thanks in advance. ;-) ^I do floor my tents with carpet-topped EVA jigsaw tiles (scarlet red, because I'm shameless GlampTrash), so it's not like my mattress'd at any point contact the actual "ground"-ground, anyway, but I'd just hate to get cocky one layer too early & ruin my lovely camping trip before even the first morning, like a chump. What do you think? Am I just overengineering it, at this point? I trust your advice, either way.

G'day Pamela,

It's definitely wise to be thermal savvy with an airbed, especially in the cold Canberra winters. Sounds to me like you've got some got options in place with the EVA tiles, and a memory foam topper, but to be safe rather than a sorry ice-cube I think the Camp Mat Jumbo could be a good weapon in the arsenal against the cold.
