Spacious, ventilated and liveable – the three-room Brampton 3R Tent from Outdoor Connection is the perfect shelter for a large family or group getaways.
The inner is made from breathable polyester, while the fly is made from 100D HiCount fabric which provides a minimum 3000mm
For extra shade around the side of the tent, you can set up large awnings from the side doors and you can also form three pole awnings from the end doors. Sleeping up to 12 people, you can shelter the whole family, and still have plenty of living space with the Brampton 3R Tent from Outdoor Connection.
Can the additional side walls for the brampton be used as a side wall on the coleman instant up northstar 8p. I own both tents.
G'day Jess,
We've not actually tried it, but just going off my current knowledge, it wouldn't work. There's no attachment option for any accessories for the Coleman Northstar 8P. You may be able to come up with a DIY solution.
Hi, thw Brampton 3 room dome tent seems great. Could you please advise if a pair of Oztent Goanna stretchers (or Oztrail Easy fold single stretchers) will fit in the room without touching the sides and allowing easy exit to the central room? Thank you Also, what are the sizes of the rooms? Thank you
G'day Pmeri,
The bedrooms on the Brampton 3 measure 280 x 210, so you'll have plenty of room for two stretchers in the room with a walkway.
Hope that helps!
Does this have room dividers in any of the rooms? or can they be added? Thanks!
G'day Ben,
There aren't any dividers in the three bedrooms, and there isn't really a way to add a divider into any of them, unfortunately.
Hello. Can the additional awning connections be used to make walls for the front awning like the Coleman Northstar 10P?
G'day Chris,
Outdoor Connection has advised that the Awning walls can only be used on the front awning (the smaller awning). The first two images show the front awning set up with the extra awning walls, the can be used to provide a weather break on two sides of that awning, but aren't able to be attached to the longer awning created across the three rooms.
For a family of 4 kids (7, 2) would you recommend this one or Coleman cv9? Durability and weather protection is the main concern.
G'day Pramod,
Thanks for getting in touch, the Brampton and the Chalet 9 have some fairly similar features, with very similar amounts of space. The Brampton has a slightly more square pole design so will generally give you a little more internal space due to the reduced curve from roof to floor. The Chalet 9 has a slightly higher water rating on it than the Brampton so should perform slightly better in the rain, however they are comparable, and are both durable and stable in most weather conditions. The Brampton might provide some slightly more flexible options for external shade and entrances, with optional additional walls, and a fully opening side to sit under during the day. Overall we think both models are great, and both rate very highly with our customers, so it will really come down to budget and personal preference.
Brand is Outdoor Connection
G'day Louise,
I've just had a chat with Outdoor Connection and their products are made in China in a factory they have been using since they began their business.
Hi Are there seperate zip down doors for the openings on the Brampton - or does the awning need to be down to close off the doors
G'day Sharie,
The Doors on the Brampton 3 Room Tent are dual-layer (one mesh piece, one solid piece) so you can leave the side awnings up and zip the doors shut for privacy. We'd recommend zipping down the side awnings for rain and weather protection overnight though.
How much room does this tent take up in a standard campground 'site' e.g at a holiday park. Is there enough room for tent, awnings and car? Obviously campgrounds differ so just after rough idea of suitability.
G'day Eddie,
Unfortunately the is no standard sizing for campground allocation, and the variance between them can be huge. I've been to spaces that could only fit 2 cars, others that could fit 4 caravans, and others that are shapped like a triangle! Theres no possibility to even give a rough idea, and suitability would depend on what each place has to offer.
The footprint without awning space included is 6.2m x 2.9m. As a rough estimate I'd say the awning space would add up to an additional 2m in length and width. Depending on what kind of car you have, you'd probably want an allotment with a minimum size of 9m x 7m.
I would recommend calling the parks in your most visited holiday locations to get an idea before you decide.
We always ask for a large site. The smallest site we had we did manage to fit it on even with the car. But when we ask for a large site we usually put this ten on it and a 3x6m (same size as tent) shelter. You just have to check out sizes when you book.
Hello, are you able to tell me what changes have been made to this model over the previous, and what is the model number? Also, does this version still come with 4 awning poles? thank you
G'day TJ,
The new version of the Brampton 3 Room Dome Tent has a more box shape design to increase your internal space, and create more vertical side walls. This will help if you're wanting to use stretchers inside the tent. The model is the TD.34 and they do still come with four awning poles.
in one of the photos it looks like there's an additional awning connecting the side and front awnings (themselves part of the tent). Is the 'connecting awning' a separate item?
G'day Aaron,
I'm guessing you're referring to the first and second images of the Brampton 3 Room Dome
You can buy a separate connecting piece. We don't have it and it has been fine, but we have a whole extra shelter.
How many awning poles are included?
G'day Brock,
We've just doubled checked and the Brampton tent comes with four awning poles.
How many guy ropes should I buy for this tent? Is there a type or brand that best works with this tent?
G'day Annie,
Unfortunately, we don't have the Brampton 3 Dome up on display but I'll approximate that there are probably at least 10 guys included with the tent. We recommend adding an extra guy at each corner for extra pole stability so you can then have one extending at opposing angles for greater structural support. With this in mind and catering for the awnings, you could consider an extra 6 - 10? There isn't a particular type or brand that works better than the others with regard to the Brampton, more so it would come down to your budget and personal preferences. If you're adding extra guys for stability it might be worth considering the ropes with springs as they are designed to allow for wind movement and stretch/shrinkage. Feel free to check out this page for our range of ropes and guys, including those with springs. Cheers :)
What would the differences be between these 2 tents beside the obvious dark room. Say the strength and materials? And what tarp for underneath? Thanks
G'day Max,
Great question! The obvious difference is the Dark Room coating as you mention, but there are some other considerations.
The Brampton has tough 100 denier fabrics whereas the Northstar has softer 75 denier fabrics that you may find easier to pack away. The 175gsm polyethylene floor in the Brampton is a tough and reliable fabric for tent floors, Coleman has opted for a 420D Polyoxford PVC on the Northstar which is a softer feeling fabric.
The Instant Up frame in the Northstar tent makes it a little faster to pitch and pack away but has limitations in particularly bad weather, whereas Outdoor Connections Hornet Pole system takes a little longer to set up but is sturdier and more forgiving when you have to wait out a storm.
In summary, the Northstar is easier to set up, but the Brampton offers more durability.
In regards to the tarp, the OZtrail Ultramesh is a reliable choice! These are available in 10 sizes so depending on which tent you choose, you'd have to match up the external dimensions to suit. The 2.44 x 6.10 m would work for the Northstar but with the larger measurements on the
Cheers :)
Sorry I don't actually have anything to add here but just wanted to say; Great question Max. These are the two tents that I am comparing between at the moment and was trying to work out this question myself so thank you for asking. While im here though, Since it has been 11 months since you first posted this question Max, can I ask which tent you ended up going with, if either at all please ? And are you happy with your choice ?? And also, what do you recommend about the size of ultramesh tarps if going with the two smaller ones please ? Thanks
