Will this actually handle like minus 10 ? I recently got the 23 zero alaska which was ment to be minus 10 comfort but I took it out in minus 2 and absolutely froze couldn't even feel my toes. Very unhappy with it looking to upgrade but now thinking all these ratings are way out ?

G'day Ryan,
These sleeping bags aren't EN tested, so the comfort temps are not standardised. They're best guess based on materials and insulation.
There are a range of variables which effect sleeping bag performance, and you'll find that whilst you may have been cold and -2 in your old bag, someone else in the same situation may have been too hot. Looking at synthetic 4WD/Swag style bags, your only real option is reading product reviews & seeing real life feedback.
Sleeping on a mat with a higher R-Value, fleece liners, or woolen blankets over the top can contribute to a warmer sleep. Eating food, getting your thermals on around 4pm, or rugging up earlier in the day to keep your core temperature high, etc are also other factors.
The Arctic Black does have higher gsm of insulation in both the bottom & top layers than the Alaska, so it will be warmer. How much warmer for you personally, is really hard to say - we'd need more info on your whole sleep system.

What’s the difference between the 1400 and 1600 please?

G'day Jemimah
The 1400 and 1600 refer to the width of the sleeping bag. The 1400 is 140cm wide, the 1600 is 160cm wide - both are suitable as double sleeping bag options.
