I am just curious to know how comfortable i would be in the rtt being 185cm tall? i have heard they can be cramped
Hi Ash!
The best way to answer this Question would be for you to jump on the 'Features' video on the product page. From 6 minutes and 32 seconds, you will see Ben (who is also 185 CM) lay down and show you the room you will have inside the Saber. Looks like it will be pretty comfy!
The measurements say it is 28cm high, does this include the roof rack rails on top and the mounting rails under the tent?
G'day Brian,
The Saber has a total height of 280mm, including mounting rails and roof bars.
The mounting rails are 20mm, and the roof bars are around 60mm.
Hope that helps!
Hey Guys, What is the extra cost for the 100 mm inner spring mattress upgrade please.
G'day Rick,
Due to a lack of popularity, we don't stock the spring mattress separately or the RTT upgrade anymore.
Just as a point of reference, the upgraded mattress as a separate purchase was $349.
You can get the Saber with the Spring mattress upgrade from 23Zero directly. Check out the link below:

Hi, can this be pack up with double size sleeping bag and pillows? It looks the same design as the Darche RTT , is it the same specs
G'day Duncan,
You can pack these up with pillows and a double sleeping bag, for sure. The Darche and 23Zero tents are similar, but so are all hardshell rooftop tents of this style from any brand. There's not a huge amount of variation but some differences between sizing and features.
The quickest and easiest way to check this out is by using the 'compare' function, which can be used on a computer and some larger tablet style smart devices.
Hope that helps.
Can this be mounted to a tub rack ?
G'day Bailey,
Yep, absolutely. The tub racks essentially replace a roof rack system for utes, so they generally will function the same way.
What’s the weight the racks can carry?
G'day Alex,
You might have missed it, but we have answered this in a previous question about Solar Panels. The overall load limit of the saber tent and roof racks is 23kg, so as long as you don't exceeed that, you should be all good!
Do u know if the mounting plate provided is wide enough to go across an arb base rack beam
G'day Taz,
All the information we have on hand says it's not going to work out of the box. I've actually not come across someone who's mounted an RTT to a platform before, doesn't mean it hasn't been done, just that none of us here have seen how it might work.
I think your best bet would be to contact 23Zero directly to see if they've got any advice. I would have thought ARB may have a generic bracket solution, like Rhino does for their platforms. There's got to be a way to make it work, even if it means going to a fabricator and getting some custom brackets done.
Are the zip taps metal or rubber/material? I ask as I’ve heard that some rooftop tents with metal zip taps within the tents rattle with wind at night and can be loud, whereas material or rubber tabs don’t make noise. Also, can the ladder be positioned at the rear of the tent for access as opposed to always being used on the sides? Cheers :)
G'day Jacques,
The zips are metal, but we haven't had reports of there being any issues. Even if you did have issues with the zips clinking around in wind, it's pretty easy and straightforward to wrap a bit of electrical tape around them, for example. Its certainly not something I would consider as a deciding factor if the other features of the rooftop tent are right for you, plus metal zip sliders can often be more durable long term.
Regarding ladder position, absolutely. The second product image we have shows the ladder being mounted at the main door, whereas we have it mounted on the side in our videos. There is flexibility with ladder placement to suit your set up.
Hope that helps!
Do you know if the mesh is Midge proof?
G'day Kristian,
There's no Midge guarantee with the Saber.
Very few products on the market claim to be midge proof, as they get in through stitching, between zips, etc and its almost impossible to be sure that none will get in. Generally No-See-Um mesh is known to be the best chance of midge defense, but 23Zero use their own insect mesh. Having said that though, my standard camping gear with normal mesh has kept us safe in Midge country before, so I think it also comes down to where you've set up, having adequate clothing a personal repellent, and possibly consider using surface spray repellants that can go around your tent windows and doorways.
Hey can the Falcon 270 awning attach to the saber rails or does it have to mount to the top of my canopy
G'day Josh,
Any awning you want to mount has to attach to the original vehicle roof rack system, under to roof top tent. You cant mount the awning to the Saber rails.
Hope that helps.
Hi can solar panels be mounted onto the roof racks on top? How much weight can be added? Thanks
G'day Jacinta,
Yes, absolutely they can. The roof racks and overall load limit on the Saber is 23Kg, so covers have solar panels & recovery boards, for example.
