A compact camp kitchen set for four, the Alpha 4.2 Set from Sea to Summit is the durable yet lightweight option that can be used at the campsite, or on the trail.
This set comes with two pots – one 3.7L Alpha Pot and one 2.7L Pot for cooking. These are made from high spec hard anodised premium alloy, making them light yet extremely durable. Each pot has a special pivot-lock handle which locks on securely when you’re using it and can be rotated inward to lock the lid and the contents of the pot for transit. You can drain the water from your pasta through the strainer lid, the textured base provides better stability when stirring, and the Lid-Keep function means you can attach the lid to the rim to keep it out of the way.
This set comes with four DeltaLight Bowls and Insul Mugs that are made from microwave and dishwasher safe BPA free polypropylene. They also nest snugly inside the Alpha pots for easy storage while you’re in transit. Whether it’s a long weekend at your local National Park, or a more lightweight adventure – the Sea to Summit Alpha 4.2 is the versatile choice.

Are these suitable for use on a bbq plate over a campfire?
G'day Jodie,
The Alpha Pots are designed for use on gas stoves and are not suitable for use on a campfire. You might be able to use them on a BBQ plate depending on the temperature of the plate, although it's not something we've tried or would recommend.
Are these pots safe to use on campfire like coals, wood etc. In particular, I own Firebox stove ()https://www.fireboxstove.com/5%E2%80%8B-g2-firebox/5-inch-folding-firebox) I am keen to know if they are safe to use, clean. Mainly concerned about how they perform in high heat, soot residue left on them after cooking on fire etc. If this is not the right product, could you please suggest me a cookware I can use. Thanks.
G'day Parry,
I've just called Sea to Summit and the official word is that the Alpha Pots aren't suitable to use directly on a campfire as the temperature isn't able to be regulated. The Firebox Stove would be a bit of a grey area considering its design. We'd suggest steering clear of fire and sticking with an adjustable gas stove.
Use with oil for frying? Ease of cleaning after frying?
G'day Carmel,
Other than being a little inconvenient you'd be fine to fry in these pans if you needed to. You could also look at adding the 8" Sea to Summit Alpha Frypan to the kit which is probably a bit easier to use because of the lower sides. This will nest nicely on the bottom of the 4.2 kits. The hard anodized finish has non-stick properties but a bit of oil will be fine. Being very thin aluminum it's not like cooking on your heavy steel frypan at home so just be aware the heat will transfer very quickly and you'll need to keep an eye on it while you're cooking to prevent the food from burning. Only use the non-stock friendly scourers when cleaning, definitely avoid steel wool etc.
Hi, what is the overall dimensions of the large pot, assuming it is different to the packed dimensions (was that box size).
G'day Ninka,
The Sea to Summit Alpha Set 4.2 packs up and fits into the Alpha Pot 3.7L which is
