The 23Zero Alaska Black 900 Sleeping Bag is made for heavy-duty use with a tough water-resistant poly-cotton shell.
Don't let its tough exterior fool you though, inside is a 100% cotton flannel liner and dual layers of insulation for a cosy sleep in any environment. Zippers feature down each side and along the foot section so you can open the bag all the way or just use the zips to manage warmth retention and ventilation.
The features don't stop there though, inside is a storage pocket so you can keep valuables safe and the bag comes complete with a flannel-lined pillow. The Alaska Black 900 Sleeping bag is perfect for use in a swag or rooftop tent.
Hi. Do you think two of these loosely laid back in the storage area of my panther 1600 roof top tent with 2 soft pillows would close up ok?
Jason - Strathalbyn, SA (3 months ago)
G'day Jason,
I'm not sure about pillows aswell, but you should be ok with the sleeping bags if you tuck them in side by side. Checkout the 14:00 mark of our Panther product review video when Ben runs through how you can fit bedding into the tent.

Roll in Swag1 answer
Can this roll up inside the bandit 900, and the rolled up swag still fit in the swag bag?
Sean - Adelaide, SA (6 months ago)
G'day Sean,
The carry bag is fairly spacious so as long as you get a good tight start to your roll, it should be able to fit the Alaska 900 Bag rolled up inside the Bandit 900 swag easily.

900 vs 11001 answer
If my shoulder girth is 123cm, which size is appropriate for me? I like to move in my sleep too.
Jonathan - Sydney, NSW(1 year ago)
G'day Jonathon,
We do state the internal girth of the sleeping bags in the specification, but it's easily missed! The 900 sleeping bag has an internal girth of 180cm The 1100 sleeping bag has an internal girth of 220 cm.
You don't necessarily want to go too big because it can let cold air into the bag, but not sure how much extra room you'd be wanting to have. If you've measured around your shoulders with a tape measure, do the same again but holding the loop at the above sleeping bag measurements. See how you feel within that loop, and that will be the guide on which bag to go with.

Two Singles vs Double1 answer
Looking for sleeping bag options for two people in our Duke Swag. Wondering if we should get the double or two single sleeping bags zipped together, any advice? Thanks. Ps I’m always freezing, my partner tolerates the cold better
Bri - Newcastle, NSW(1 year ago)
G'day Bri,
I'd lean towards joining two singles together, as the 1400 wide sleeping bag gets a bit small for two people once you put 3D bodies in there in my personal opinion. If you're a cold sleeper, an excellent edition is a thin woolen blanket eg. an old vintage one from an op shop or your grandparents for example. They're not to heavy to put over the top of the bags if you need a bit of extra warmth, without being too bulky.

Seasons1 answer
For what seasons would you recommend this sleeping bag?
Jesse - Shailer Park, QLD(3 years ago)
G'day Jesse,
This sleeping bag has a comfort rating of -5 to -10 degrees, which means it is suited to winter or cold weather camping. You do have the option to open it out fully like a blanket if required, but it will still be pretty warm.

Hood location when zipped together1 answer
I have not zipped sleeping bags together before and just wondering would one person have the hood on top of their face?
Tammy - Macquarie Hills, NSW(3 years ago)
G'day Tammy,
Yes, they would. These bags open up flat and zip together like a sandwich, so the left-hand person will have to deal with the hood.

Removing the pillow1 answer
Is it possible to remove the pillow?
Tammy - Macquarie Hills, NSW(3 years ago)
G'day Tammy,
Yes, the pillow is a separate item. You can compare the first three images - the first two have no pillow, the third one does. Hope that helps!

2 pillows1 answer
Is it suppose to come with 2 pillows?
Rodulf - Wattle Grove(4 years ago)
G'day Rodulf,
The Alaska 900 and 1100 just come with the one pillow, the Alaska 1400 comes with two pillows.

Oztent Rivergum XL1 answer
What are the differences and comparison? What are your experiences and thoughts? Thanks
Tony - Blacktown(4 years ago)
G'day Tony,
We've got a handy compare function on our site if you're using a desktop web browser so that might help if you need to compare two items next time. The Alaska is slightly narrower than the Rivergum and has dual side zippers. The Rivergum has either a left or right zipper, and a zip-out fleece liner. Overall they're fairly similar aside from this, and are good quality bags.

Zip together?1 answer
Just wondering if the alaska black 900 can zip together to form a double? I know the 1400 would cater, but would rather the versatility of two separate bags when necessary.
Opal - Vic(5 years ago)
G'day Opal,
I've just called 23Zero to double-check, and they confirmed that yes you can zip two of the Alaska Black 900 Sleeping Bags together to make an extra-wide double.
