G'day Mark,
You can't I'm sorry - it's an inbuilt safety feature to protect the battery from overuse and permanent damage. It might be an idea to move the power pack away from your sleeping space if you can.

Companion 40H vs 44H Power Packs1 answer
Can both the Companion Lithium 40H & AGM 44H be charged from vehicle whilst driving (I have a Fixed Alternator not a smart alternator) with both charged to full and only used for a 20L fridge what is the better option ? Cheers Steve
Steven - Ulmarra, NSW(2 years ago)
G'day Steven,
The AGM 44Ah power pack you've asked this question on can only be charged via 12v for maintenance or top-up charging, and shouldn't be relied upon as the primary charge source.
Realistically, for the situation you are talking about, either could do the trick as your 20L fridge shouldn't be drawing too much power at all. Whatever the battery will draw from your vehicle will essentially just be maintaining it.
The only other consideration is that these batteries don't have a protection system for the charging source. Triple check if your car still provides power when it's off - you can just plug a phone into charge & see what happens. If that's the case, then be sure to pull out the power pack charging cables every time you stop, will save you running your car battery flat.

Solar panel1 answer
I assume you would need a 200w solar panel for this ? Also will all brands of solar panels fir this unit ? Thank you
Steven - Ulmarra(2 years ago)
You don't need any specific ampunt of Solar, Steven, but the more solar input you have the more sunlight you can utilise to charge the battery for longer. I think 200W is a good amount to maintain enough power to power a fridge, charge a few devices and run some LED lights.
Any solar panel will work, you just need to make sure you connect the solar panel to a solar controller, then plug the solar controller into the battery pack via a 50A Anderson connector.

Solar charging 1 answer
Hi Is there anyway to tell when the unit is fully charged via the anderson connectors to your solar panel ? should the voltage be ~ 13ah Thanks
Peter - Kenmore, QLD(2 years ago)
G'day Peter,
A fully charged AGM battery will be 12.8V. There are charge indicators on this unit, but they don't work when being charged by solar. As you would with any other battery without an inbuilt charge regulator, if you want to know the charge status, just refer to your inline solar controller.

Powering devices whilst charging1 answer
Hi team. I plan to have this charging from a car cig socket, and have the fridge plugged into and running from this. I'm hoping that when the car is ON the battery will keep charging to replace what the fridge is using, and when the car is OFF the firdge will just be powered by this device. Does this sound like it will work? Thanks

G'day Tim,
Yep, the power pack can charge and discharge at the same time - similar to if you have solar hooked up. Hope that helps!

Charging of power pack1 answer
I am going on a 3 week trip to Qld next month and want to take my 45 lt Dometic fridge/freezer with us. Question will this unit be suitable for plugging into the fridge and running the fridge overnight while we are stopped and will I be able to charge this power pack off the cigarette power source in the rear of my car when we are mobile or would I need to get a anderson plug fitted. I only use the fridge probaly 6 times a year so dont want a lot of unwanted expense. Thanks
Jeff - Naracoorte, SA(2 years ago)
G'day Jeff,
Yes, absolutely. The only consideration is whether or not you have a smart alternator or variable voltage alternator (usually post 2013 vehicles). If this is the case you will need to pick up a DC to DC charger to charge your portable power pack from your vehicle.

How long till I need to recharge?1 answer
If I just have a regular portable camp fridge, and nothing else attached, how long would it keep it running before having to recharge?
Kat - Canberra, ACT (2 years ago)
G'day Kat,
These portable power stations has an 80% life cycle, meaning it can use 80% of its capacity before requiring a recharge - this leaves you with approx 35Ah of use.
How many actual hours of power that gives you depends on your appliance. Best way to work that out is to check your fridge specifications for average power consumption. Dividing the fridge's power consumption by 35 will give you the approximate hours of run time before charging is required.

Is battery included and/or replaceable1 answer
Is battery included and whether the battery can be replaced and what size battery has it got?
Aey - Melton, VIC(2 years ago)
G'day Aey,
This is a sealed Power Pack with an inbuilt 44Ah battery. The internal battery cannot be replaced.
If you are looking for a replaceable battery option, take a look at the Hard Korr Battery Box.
