If you’re in need of a decent food grade jerry can to store water on your next road trip, the 22L Wide Mouth Heavy Duty Water Jerry Can from Pro Quipwill fit the bill.
You won’t get this one muddled with your back-up fuel jerry can as the label is clearly moulded into the BPA free plastic. It’s heavy-duty and UV stabilised so you can keep it in your 4WD while taking on the rough tracks without finding it split and sitting in a puddle the next time you need water. The wide mouth makes for easy refilling and faster pouring, plus there’s a tap included underneath the cap for when you want to remove the bung. What’s more is the added advantage of an air vent integrated into the cap which when unplugged, allows for no-glug pouring through the tap.
Made in Australia so you can be assured it is manufactured to our strict safety standards, the 22L Wide Mouth Heavy Duty Water Jerry Can with Tap from Pro Quip is the versatile water carrier for use when you’re on the road.

pro-quip 22l water jerry1 answer
Hi Ben & Lauren, please can you tell me does the water 'taste funny' when you drink it? & can they be layed down, either flat or on the side edge oposite the filler when travelling? Thanks for helping Take care, stay safe Kindest regards Nick :0)
Nick :0) - Gwelup Dc, WA (8 months ago)
G'day Nick,
I've drank water from these before, but Ben hasn't. I personally don't recall there being a flavour or taste to the water, and going from the product reviews it doesn't seem like anyone else has had issues. The funny water taste thing appears to be a personal thing that some people can taste and some people cant. If you do have issues, a bit of bi-carb and lemon, or raspberry cordial will see you right.
You can store them laying flat, or on the side edge, but I'd just be mindful of making sure they're secure.

Tap removable?1 answer
Absolutely ignorant question: once the lower tap has been fitted, can it later be removed and bung replaced? Or once it's in, you can't return to original watertight pre-tap state.
Leanne - Landsborough, QLD (8 months ago)
G'day Leanne,
Not ignorant at all! The tap is removable, it will have a thread on it the same as the bung plug. You can interchange them as necessary, which is common practice when storing jerry cans for a while. Its helps to keep the tap from damage - hope that helps!

Bottom plug1 answer
Hello. Do you have any similar containers that do not have the bung/plug in the bottom? I ask because these are often the source of leaks, and aren’t really needed anyway. Thank you.
Reuben - Upwey, VIC(3 years ago)
G'day Rueben,
Currently, all of our water jerry cans have a bung plug in the bottom. Sorry, you've previously had trouble with leaking bungs, we've found these ones to be pretty good.

Tap to fit1 answer
Hi there I would like to know if your Tap (item number 125654 fits this container please
Reuben - Upwey, VIC(3 years ago)
G'day Reuben,
Yep, the Makin Tracks lid options are compatible with the ProQuip Jerry Cans.
Not being picky but how is it a wide mouth if it,s a std 5cm? WIDE mouth will be good for some 12v pumps ðŸ‘
drew - Bakewell (4 years ago)
G'day Drew,
ProvQuips standard water jerry cans have a narrower neck on them for easier pouring. The wide mouth designation is how Pro Quip have labelled them, but in comparison to some other Jerry Cans, the mouth is a fairly standard size.
