What is the fitting for the bung as I want to add a tap on the end of a hose. Will it take a 19mm irrigation fitting?
G'day Les,
The thread style is MPT we're pretty sure, and its 25-26mm.
There's a few of the team who have used irrigation fittings with their Jerry Can, but they've taken the Jerry to Bunnings and manually tried screwing different options whilst there to find something suitable.
I'm looking at using this jerry can with the Companion 12V shower. Will the pump (55 mm diameter) from the shower fit inside the jerry can?
G'day Angela,
Its just the standard 5cm mouth that features of the majority of food HDPE jerry cans. We have tested the hot water system pump ends before, and unfortunately there's no jerry can in our current range that is compatible.
Does a "Jerry Can Lever Action Tap" screw on, on the inside of the main screw cap, while not in use? i.e. like the Proquip Jerry Can
G'day Tim,
I've checked this model Jerry in all sizes, and they do have the threaded port inside the lid for attaching taps.
Can you see the level in the can ?
G'day Gregg,
The colour is white but slightly see-through meaning you are able to see the water level through the plastic in a lighted area.
I see that you have some taps for sale. Can any of them be used on this unit?
G'day Naomi,
There are two different options that will suit the Jerry Can 20L. The Jerry Can Lever Action Tap that will screw into the bung on the side near the bottom, and the Jerry Can Tap & Cap combo that will screw in place of the top red cap.
Does the water have any kind of taste from the plastic? And is it clear enough to see the water level through the container?
G'day Jake,
When these Jerry Cans are new there may be a slight smell/taste of plastic. Once you've aired it out and used it a few times you shouldn't find it too much of a problem. You'll be able to see the water level through the plastic.
What is the diameter of the thin end of the pouring connection?
G'day Brendan,
I've just measured this for you, and the thin end is 20mm diameter.
Hi, I am wondering if this jerry can has a pressure relief valve? So when pouring from the top air can enter the container and water can pour out unhindered. Thanks
G'day Luke,
The 20L Plastic Jerry Can has a bung in the bottom on the opposite side to the cap and pourer so you could open that up a crack to improve the flow.
Is this suitable for drinking water
G'day Clay,
It sure is mate!
