What would the estimated R Value be of the 7cm mattress?
G'day Roland,
It's impossible to say really, the foam in a swag mat is open cell and constructed quite differently to self inflating mats of similar thickness.
I'd say you're probably looking at around 2 as an absolute guess.
You can help raise that by using a yoga mat or something similar underneath, or even folded woolen blankets.
How do you clean the removable cover
G'day Ike,
Cold water hand wash, or gentle/handwash cycle in the washing machine. Best to also line dry so the cover doesn't shrink.
Bare in mind it can be abit of a pain to get the cover back on, so using a fitted sheet or doing a spot clean would be ideal first options.
Hope that helps.
hey there, does the 50 & 70mm thick matresses both roll up? Then can wrap a strap around to store in the boot? Ta, Rich
G'day Rich,
Yeah, there's no reason why you cant roll these mattresses up. Bear in mind though that they are just a slab of foam, so may take some effort to get t it rolled up, and I would recommend using 2-3 straps instead of 1 - otherwise the ends will spring open like a bow tie!
I have an old Bushwakka swag with a mattress that is 2080x1000x60mm how does this mattress measure up? Does it come with the mattress cover?
G'day Sam,
The 110 Wide Swag Mattress comes in two thicknesses, 50mm of 70mm, either side of your old mattress. They are 215L x 110W cm, so a tad larger than your current swag mattress. The mattress has a zippered removable cover that can be removed for cleaning.
Does the mattress come with a cover, and how does it compare for comfort with the all terrain mattress. As per my other emails, getting ready to order gear to go with my new 4wd Suzuki Jimny
G'day Rod,
This Swag Mattress doesn't come with a bag as it's designed as a replacement or extra mattress for your swag. The All Terrain mattress comes with a bag and uses high-density foam that is a little thicker than the Swag mattress. In terms of comfort, most people report that the All Terrain is a little firmer but more comfortable overall.
I already own this swag and the 50mm mattress that came with it, but am looking for a little extra comfort. Tossing up between a second 50mm mattress or adding the 70mm mattress for a whopping $3 more. Just making sure that it will still roll up ok with a total 120mm thickness?
G'day Sarah,
We have had a few people upgrade their old 50mm mattress to the 70mm, or add an additional 50cm mattress, but I've not had anyone opt for the extra 70mm mattress to make a 120mm total thickness. You should be ok to roll this up, but you might take a few goes to roll it up tight enough to secure.
