When you’ve got a shorter trip planned, or you need a backup in case of a power outage the Yeti 400 Lithium will keep your devices and other gear charged when you need it.
This Yeti 400 Lithium features USB, AC and 12V outputs so you can charge all kinds of gear from your phone to camera equipment. This unit has a replaceable lithium battery pack with an 18-month shelf life and an upgraded display which allows you to see the output and input meter and the runtime/recharge time estimator at a glance. Before you head off, you can charge your Yeti 400 Lithium at home from the wall, or you can power it up via separate compatible solar panels.
The next time you catch that Friday feeling, the Yeti 400 Lithium is what you need to keep your gear juiced on your next adventure.
Can you use any generic solar panel brand to charge it or must you use a Goal Zero brand, thanks
G'day Simon,
You can, use just about any portable solar panel with a maximum 120W output or less. You'll need the Goal Zero Anderson to 8mm adapter if you go for a different brand panel to Goal Zero.
To make a breakfast smoothie
G'day Ruth,
I don't think your Nutribullet will work with the Yeti 400 Lithium. They can maintain a maximum continuous draw of 300W (watts) of power (with a surge maximum of 1200W), but based on the information I could find for the NutriBullet 1000 it will continuously draw 1000W and will therefore not work with the Yeti 400 Lithium.
Do you need to recharge the battery before has no charge? Or can the battery be completely drained before charging?
G'day Kay,
The Yeti 400 Lithium has a 39.6Ah battery. We'd suggest having a read through the user guide (available on the site as a pdf) to double-check the best use strategy, but in short, it will be best not to completely flatten the unit, but to keep it regularly topped up but using a solar panel or wall charger.
Can I charge this using my vehicle's alternator or do I need a DC to DC charger?
G'day Dan,
The Yeti 400 Lithium can't be charged from a 12V source, so, unfortunately, you won't be able to charge this from your vehicle. You can only charge this model from the AC wall adapter, or from a solar panel.
Isnt the Regulated Car Charge Cable designed for this... https://www.goalzero.com.au/shop/cables-adapters/regulated-charge-cable-8mm/
G'day Anthony,
Right you are! They hadn't released the regulated charger in Australia when we answered that question, but we do now sell it. You can find them here
How long can I expect (conservatively) to run a Dometic CFF-45 fridge off a full charge?
G'day Matt,
The Yeti 400 Lithium Portable Power Station has approximately 39.6AH of battery storage. Being a lithium composite battery you can deplete this to 80% (conservatively). So 31.68 usable amp-hours. Let's say its running at 2 Amps constantly, which is probably the worst-case scenario, 31.68 divided by 2 is 15.84 hours of use, conservatively. Hope this helps.
Iam interested just wondering if this will run a sleep apnea machine without humidifyer for 3-4 days would use the yet400only for sleep apnea machine free camping.Cheers Michael.
G'day Michael,
Goal Zero have indicated that some of their Portable Power Stations are compatible with CPAP machine use, but without having the specific details of your machine and its power requirements, I'd be hesitant to say yes or no, especially for the periods of time you are talking about. Your best bet would be to contact Goal Zero directly, and they can go through the best options for you.
I use a 42V 2Amp charger for my electric skateboard. Can i just plug thatinto the yeti and see if it works?
G'day Luke,
Based on the charger being 42v at 2 amps would equate to 84w assuming you are using a 240v wall charger; the yeti has a 300w inverter inbuilt and is perfectly able to charge it.
Hi, I will buy one if I know it will run my expresso coffee machine. The machine says it needs 928 to 1100 Watts.
G'day Julian,
The Goal Zero Yeti 400 has an AC power output of 300W so unfortunately, it won't be able to power your morning caffeine hit. I've consulted one of our electrical gurus and his advice is that the
is there a yeti 600
G'day Dale,

how many clycles
G'day Dale,
I'm not 100% sure I completely understand your question about the cycles but Goal Zero
Hi there , can i ask what type of solar panel (portable) can i use with this unit ? Also will it charge a cpap machine ? regards vic
G'day Vic,
Goal Zero recommend their own solar panel, the Goal Zero Boulder 100, and it is a great option as it will plug straight into the Yeti power stations, no adapters required, ready to go out of the box. You can, however, use just about any portable solar panel with a maximum 120W output or less, like the Roman Portable 120W Solar Mat Kit. You'll need the Goal Zero Anderson to 8mm adapter if you go for a different brand panel to Goal Zero. They'll charge most devices but without knowing any of the details of your CPAP machine I'd be hesitant to say yes or no. Could you give us a call on 1300914007 and we can get some more details from you in order to make sure we give you the right answer?
Will this charge an Engel dual compartment fridge/freezer?
G'day James,
You'll be able to run your fridge from the Goal Zero Yeti 400 Lithium, but not 'charge' it as the fridges aren't rechargeable. Keep in mind the Lithium Yeti 400 version can't be recharged via the 12V socket in your car so if you were planning on doing this you may want to look at the classic Lead Acid Yeti 400 that can be charged in your cars cigarette lighter socket. Feel free to give us a call on 1300 914 007 or pop over to the Brendale store if you'd like to discuss your power needs in more detail mate!

G'day Scott,
