Keep an eye on how your fridge is performing while also checking outside ambient temperature quickly and easily with the Wireless Fridge Thermometer from Companion.

Alarm?1 answer
Hi does it have a audible max temperature alarm?
Steve - Morningside, QLD (1 year ago)
G'day Steve,
Unfortunately it doesn't have anything that allows you to set a temperature range and alarm, you'd just have to keep an eye on it at regular intervals if you were expecting an issue with your fridges compressor or power supply.

Battery life1 answer
As this Wireless Thermometer is running continuously what life can I expect from batteries please
Barry - Melbourne, VIC(1 year ago)
G'day Barry,
We're not provided with any information about the power consumption of this unit, and it 100% depends on the quality and type of battery you are using, so we can say with any certainty sorry. I'd say around a year might be a good ballpark. If you are not using your fridge for longer periods of time, and you don't need the thermometer to be running, just remove the batteries.

Would this still work if the receiver was in a moving vehicle & the transmitter in a caravan fridge in transit?
Vicki - O’Halloran Hill, SA(3 years ago)
G'day Vicki,
Companion state this has a 25-30m range, so it sounds like it would, however, I'm pretty sure this is only relevant over an unobstructed distance. I'd say the reality is that it wouldn't work in the situation you've described. Some people have reported not being able to read a fridge in the ute canopy, from the cab.

Can two of these units be used in close proximity to each other without effecting the how they operate? Eg two fridges side by side.e.1 answer
Thanks
Ian - Mareeba, QLD(4 years ago)
G'day Ian,
Apologies for the delay in getting back to you here. I've contacted Companion to have a chinwag about this, and unfortunately, multiple units won't be able to be used in proximity. They've done some testing on these and there is interference that causes misreadings.

Is it waterproof?1 answer
I’m wondering whether I can use it with an ice filled esky?
Pawel - Aspely(4 years ago)
G'day Pawel,
There is a seal around the battery compartment on the unit that goes inside the fridge, however, we wouldn't recommend submerging the unit in an ice-filled esky, as there is no specified waterproof rating on the unit.

Battery life2 answers
What’s the battery life like when in constant use?
Simon - Bulli(4 years ago)
G'day Simon,
Unfortunately, Companion doesn't specify a battery run time on these units, however, we've not had any feedback to suggest battery usage is high.
Leece - Snowys(4 years ago)
Battery life seems very good. I bought one about 10 weeks ago and haven't removed the batteries when not travelling (There are no on/off switches), and it is still working. This Thermometer is essential for fridges like mine that just has a Cold - Coldest setting. Range is very good also. I can have the fridge in my garage and can read its temp at the other end of the house.

Does this work with any brand fridge?
Joe - Wilson, VIC(4 years ago)
G'day Joe,
Yes, you can use this with any brand of fridge, you just pop the transmitter into the fridge, and then your receiver can be used anywhere within 25-30m of the unit.
