Ok for methylated spirit?1 answer
Hi im thinking of using this for the fuel for my trangia stove. Would be it safe?
June - Samson, WA (3 years ago)
G'day June,
Based on my understanding you can store Methylated Spirits in HDPE Plastics. We do advise proceeding with caution and make sure the container is very clearly marked "Fuel Only" to reduce accidental poisoning risk. We'd generally recommend the Trangia Fuel Bottles as the safest option.

Do you have to twist off the lid to access the contents or is it a pop up lid for easy access??

G'day Debra,
You'll just need to select the size, and then the packed dimensions will update for the selected size.

Food safe?1 answer
Maybe a dumb question, but are these food safe? I'm thinking of getting a couple of contain cooking oil and sauces for the back of my 4WD. They could be there for a few weeks and I just want to make sure suitable for the task.
Mike - Charnwood(5 years ago)
G'day Mike,
Not a dumb question at all, and always good to triple check these things. HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) is classified as food safe and has pretty consistently held this rating for the last 20 years. Its corrosion resistant and non-porous so you should have no trouble storing stuff longer term. Hope that helps.

Steripen use1 answer
Is the mouth wide enough for a steripen?
Clara - 3121(7 years ago)
G'day Clara,
We'd recommend against using a steripen with these Nalgene Wide Mouth Rectangular Bottles as it while you can fit it into the larger sizes, it's difficult to give the fluid inside a proper stir. These containers are designed for more food/fluid storage, but not so much drinking water. Have you considered the Nalgene Wide Mouth Tritan Water Bottles? They have a larger mouth that you can easily fit the steripen into.
