If the weight and bulk of traditional gazebos always stop you from taking shade with you on the go, then the Weekender Backpack Gazebo from Companion is a game changer.
This easy to assemble gazebo has been cleverly designed to be lightweight and compact, so you can just carry it with you on your back. The canopy provides UP50+ protection from the harsh sun and is also water repellent to 800mm if you encounter a bit of a drizzle. Stability is provided by the durable powder coated steel frame, and the height can be adjusted to 1.5m, 1.8m or 2.0m.
This shelter also comes with a sun wall for warm weather, and a backpack to make transport easy-peasy. Perfect for picnics, sporting events or anywhere else where you need compact shade, the Weekender Backpack Gazebo is an easy to assemble shade option for shorter trips.
Would like walls, if possible.
G'day Monique,
Unfortunately there are no walls available for this gazebo. Ive had a look at some of the wall options for other brands, and unfortunately they're not going to be compatible.
I’m 175cm tall. Will I be able to stand up underneath it?
G'day LJ,
The Weekender Backpacker Gazebo has three height settings, so at the highest setting, you should be able to comfortably stand under it.
I have had neck surgery so wanted to know weight please?
Kim. The Companion Weekender Gazebo weighs in at about 7.6Kg, Kim. We've got all these details under the 'Specifications' tab on our product page.
I see the legs flare out - is it 1.8mtr x 1.8mtr at the top? Or bottom? If it's the bottom, what's the size of the top?
G'day Sally,
It's 180cm at the top. The measurement between the legs at ground level when fully set up and legs are flared, is 210cm. Cheers :)
Can the canopy come off if I just wanted to use the frame?
G'day Sally,
The canopy on the Companion Weekender Backpack Gazebo is removable so you could remove the canopy to use the frame if you would like.
Hi, I was wondering if you know the maximum and minimum height of the lower edge? ie. the bit your head would bump into when you try to walk into the gazebo :)
G'day Ebony,
The lower edge of the Weekend Gazebo sits 50cm lower than the peak height so your looking at either 1.5m, 1.3m or 1m depending on what height you've got the gazebo set up at.
Can you attach guide ropes to gazebo
G'day Deborah,
I've just grabbed out our display model to have a look for you and can confirm that the Companion Weekender Backpack Gazebo does have some tabs that you can tie guy ropes to.
If I applied waterproofing spray and sealed the seams would this sufficiently keep me dry underneath in a bit of a strong shower.
G'day Fran,
Provided that the wind wasn't blowing the rain sideways, a good coat of waterproofing spray and sealing the seams should be enough for you to stay dry in a decent shower underneath your Companion Weekender Backpack Gazebo.
Can this gazebo be set up by one person?
G'day Sue,
Our shop assistant, Jennie, set up one of the Companion Weekender Backpack Gazeboes over the weekend to display on our shop floor. She told me that she had no issues at all setting it up all on her own.
I'm just wondering if this would hold up if I were to take it to the beach with strong wind?
G'day Lynn,
Very few things in the gazebo world are totally windproof, especially when it picks up to a good rate of knots. The Companion Weekender Backpack Gazebo is a really great little lightweight gazebo that can be transported easily. To allow for the lightweight aspect of this gazebo they've needed to make the frame a little lighter than many other gazeboes are. I'd certainly not recommend erecting this in strong winds as it might lead to an unfortunate end.
Are the pegs etc supplied with the gazebo?
G'day Angela,
That's right, the included pegs go into the base of each leg. The Gazebo doesn't include guy ropes.
