You’ve arrived at the perfect camping spot. All is Zen. Until of course you have to pitch the tent. The cause of much family angst since 1976 (well, not really). Not with the Oztrail Wayfarer 2. This sturdy little tent will pop into action in an instant.
Sleeping two adults in comfort, the Wayfarer 2 is constructed from strong UVTex® Sun Tough fabric which will not only protect you and your lover from harsh UV rays, but a hearty downpour of rain too. Sprung steel fibreglass poles keep it firm and upright in even a modest wind.
A great tent for summer camping, it is equally at home in the south as it is in the tropics thanks to its superior ventilation and breathability. The Wayfarer 2 is a smart choice for the no-nonsense couple wanting a basic tent without the hassle.

Staff tip:The Wayferer 2 is a similar in dimensions to a hiking tent so we'd suggest opting for the hiking mats rather than the bigger airbed options.
I want to sit up comfortably in my tent. Please compare the peak interior height of this tent with the Malamoo 2P. I would like 95cm or higher.

G'day again Antae - The height of this one is 100cm too. But the mesh inner is a bit more saggy than with the Malamoo, so you'll end up with some mesh in your face unless you pitch 'n' peg it really tight. I recommend the Malamoo over the Wayfarer in terms of quality and easy pitch/pack up. The Wayfarer requires some weird yoga moves to get it back in the bag. Hope that helps. Cheers, Paul

Is the Wayfarer dual skin? It looks like it has a separate inner?1 answer

G'day Callum - Sure does. A mesh inner and the fly. :) Hope that helps. Cheers, Paul

What is the main difference between the Malamoo and the Wayfarer? Will both keep the due out/are waterproof?3 answers
John - Brisbane(9 years ago)
G'day John - Great question. We actually had all the pop up tents out recently, in order to check which and how many sleeping mats fitted in each. (I have emailed you a chart showing the results.) The differences between the Wayfarer 2 and Malamoo 2 are vast. The Malamoo is bigger, easier to pop up and fold back down, is better quality, and more watertight. With a couple of hiking sleeping mats you'll sleep two people comfortable. The Wayfarer struggles to fit two small sleeping mats and is really only an option for solo camping or a couple that likes to be close in my opinion. Go a Malamoo! Hope that helps. Cheers, Paul

Thanks Paul - how do you think the Malamoo compares to the Caribee Get up 2 person? Have you got any Caribee in stock?
John - Bribsane(9 years ago)
No worries, John. I'm not familiar with the Get Up 2 - it's not a tent we stock. But having just had a look at the Caribee website, it's a whisker (well, 10cm) shorter than the Malamoo 2. When we did our recent sleeping mat tests, one thing we noticed was the length of the tent was the biggest determiner of whether a mat fitted or not. Also, the Malamoo looks to have a slightly higher waterhead rating - which means in a heavy downpour it could be a little more watertight. Hope that helps. Cheers, Paul
