Side snaps1 answer
Do the side snaps keep the body dry when worn as a poncho
Patricia - Carlton North, VIC(11 months ago)
G'day Patricia,
Yep, they sure do. Check out some of the reviews we've got from customers for real-life feedback on this poncho's performance in rain.
One of our team members in-store has just tested the noise levels each of the ponchos makes. They all make some noise and out of the lot, the Ultra Sil has the softest material and sound.

UV exposure1 answer
Hi Team, What are the warranty conditions on this item in terms of sun exposure and does it have a UV rating? Thankyou!
Camilla - Enmore, NSW(3 years ago)
G'day Camilla,
This Ultra Sil Nano Tarp Poncho doesn't come with a UV rating as its primarily designed for wet weather usage and conditions where UV is low. The fabric, siliconised nylon, is more UV stabilisation than polyurethane alternatives, but being a lightweight material it's not designed to be set up as a shelter long term. Hope that helps.

Capacity1 answer
Hi, will this poncho fit a chunky 100L pack underneath it while in use as a poncho? Cheers.
Kamran - Shoalwater, WA(3 years ago)
G'day Kamran,
I'd say it wont unfortunately, that's a pretty monster-size pack, & we dont have any hiking packs in that size to test it out. You can check out around the 3:00 mark on the Ultra Sil Nano Poncho as an idea of fit with a 60L pack. Whilst this isnt exactly the same poncho, the Tarp Version you are looking at only has 13cm of extra length.

How does the hood opening close in tarp mode?2 answers
Just purchased in store and am playing around with different set ups in the yard - hod do you close the hood opening? Is there a video or instructions somewhere? (I looked but couldn’t find any)
J - Caloundra(4 years ago)
G'day J,
The hood opening isn't able to be completely closed up. The tarp poncho is really designed as an emergency tarp setup to sit/cook under, not as a permanent structure for sleeping etc.
Leece - Snowys(4 years ago)
Having used many hooded ponchos as tarp shelters, it's very easy to use an additional length of cord to tie off the hood and elevate it slightly to an overhanging branch or to a ridgeline cord. Just twist it up, fold it over and tie it with a clove hitch. Run the cord up to anything overhead and it won't leak.

Eyelet positions1 answer
Are the midway eyelets (for poles when used as a tarp) on the long side, short side or both?
Kev - Springwood NSW(4 years ago)
G'day Kev,
I've just checked with Sea to Summit, and they've confirmed there are no eyelets for poles in the Ultra-Sil Nano Tarp Poncho. They are designed purely as an emergency shelter option, so you can tie guy ropes to the corners, and use trekking poles to give it height, however there are no specific eyelets for poles.
Leece - Snowys(4 years ago)
hi snowy's. does this come with ropes?1 answer

jim - perth(4 years ago)
G'day Jim,
The Ultra Sil Nano Tarp Poncho doesn't come with guy ropes, but there are guy rope attachment points so you can set it up for use as a shelter.
