this fridge lead1 answer

Is this lead compatible with my 40 ltr (39?) engel fridge. Its a MRFT 540b according to Engel this model was between 74-99`, I bought it New, late 80s, I want to extend the 12volt lead, appreciate advise.

G'day Christo,

This extension lead connects by a posifit terminal.
If your old Engel fridge has a posifit, you will find it by unscrewing the 12v cigarette plug.
Unfortunately if you don't have a posifit, you wont be able to use this lead.

You could try heading into Jaycar to see if there's a generic 12v extension lead that will fit your existing cable, the only thing to consider is cable gauge and length, to ensure voltage drop doesn't leave your fridge cutting out all the time.
