If you’re after a comfortable couples mattress that will survive a thrashing from the kids, the dog and the harsh outdoor conditions, then you can rely on the Twin Bomber Mattress from Zempire to get you through the night.
The Twin Bomber Mattress will fit perfectly on top of the Twin Speedy Stretcher from Zempire, and with this combination, you’ll have an unstoppable night’s sleep in the great outdoors. The top side has a soft suede feel, and the underside has a dotted non-slip surface to prevent you from sliding around like you’re on a ride at a water park. The foam inside the mattress is tapered for comfort, cross cored and is treated to prevent bacteria – so it’s an all-round high-quality mattress.
After a long day hiking, exploring or just relaxing and enjoying the scenery you can climb into your tent knowing you’ll be resting on a solid and comfortable mattress with the Twin Bomber Mattress from Zempire.
the information supplied doesn't specify what type of foam is used in this product.
G'day Lyn,
The foam inside the Twin Bomber Camp Mattress is an open-cell foam but there is no specified density so we're unfortunately not able to give you much more information than. Given that the mattress is a self-inflating style mattress you can vary how hard or soft the mattress is by increasing or decreasing the air content in the mat.
if so is there a thicker one you can recommend ?
G'day Nadine,
The middle 'bar' on this mattress is a 1cm wide foamless crease/depression that's designed to sit on the bar in a queen size stretcher bed. If you intend to use this whole mattress to sleep on you will feel a slight dip in the middle but the foam does tend to squash down. A couple of other suggestions for a thicker mattress are the Zempire Monstamat, Exped Megamat Duo, or the Sea to Summit Comfort Deluxe
Does this have a rotating valve similar to the monstamat?
G'day Calvin,
The valve on the Bomberpad is a screw-on/off valve as opposed to the Monstamat which has the plug and rotating valve system.
Just wanting to know if their is a weight limit on this bed
G'day Nat,
There is no specified weight rating on the Zempire Twin Bomber Camp Mattress. They're designed for two people so they should stand up to a fair amount of weight.
Can a toddler sleep in between the parents? Is there any supporting material in between? You have mentioned that there is no insulation rating provided by the manufacturer, would it be comfy for the spring/fall in VIC?
G'day Nick,
Thanks for the question. Theoretically, you'd be able to sleep a toddler between the parents on this mat, but I would dare say you'd find it pretty squashy and a little uncomfortable. There is a small seam in the centre that could be a bit of an issue. You might find the Zempire Monstamat Twin a little more comfortable with a slightly wider fit. In terms of insulation rating, yes the Twin Bomber will be fine in Spring and Autumn.
Is it only wipe clean?
G'day Tilda,
You can clean the top of the Zempire Twin Bomber Camp Mattress with a damp microfibre cloth and then make sure to air dry it thoroughly. They are unable to be separated at the centre as the material is fixed.
For storage
G'day Matt,
You can store the Twin Bomber Camp Mattress rolled up, it will just mean it takes a little longer to re-inflate itself when you use it. If you store it rolled for a long time it would be worth rolling it out and giving it a few hours to re-inflate before using it.
Want to put in the back of Kia Carnival for when kids go to drive in cinema. Is the material durable on top and bottom?
G'day Matt,
The Zempire Twin Bomber Camp Mattress is a Suede Polyester that is fairly durable,
Should I get this mattress to reduce the hump of middle bar ? I will use this for a one person swag.
G'day Bob,
Unfortunately, the Zempire Twin Bomber Camp Mattress will be a little bit too wide to fit nicely inside the Zempire Ranger 1200 Swag.
We have a double swag and would like to upgrade the mattress as the current one is thin and uncomfortable. Would this mattress suit or do you have another suggestion.
G'day Mark,
Whilst it does depend a little on your specific swag, the Zempire Twin Bomber Camp Mattress will fit with most double swags.
Can you fold it to get double thickness for one person?
G'day Eloise,
I just gave this a whirl with our display model of the Zempire Twin Bomber Camp Mattress. It does fold in half to use as a double thick mattress but unless you're lying on it or holding it down, it does pop back over into the full double sized mattress. I'd also be a little worried about the outer material getting damaged being face-down on your tent floor.
Hi are the packed dimensions accurate? I notice a significant difference between the packed dimensions of this mat and the Oztrail double 4wd mat despite similar inflated dimensions. Is this really only 67L when rolled? And secondly, does this come with a bag or just straps to secure? Thanks.
G'day Jess,
The dimensions are correct as the Zempire Twin Bomber Camp Mattress uses a high-quality foam allowing you to fold it in half and making it easier to roll up. It also comes with a bag.
Is it bonded
G'day Darren, the Zempire Twin Bomber mat is bonded, and it's a great quality comfy mat for the price!Â
Please advise how long the mattress takes to self inflate on first use?
G'day Natalie,
The Zempire Twin Bomberpad is a fairly new mat to us, so we haven't had a lot of feedback from customers on how long it takes to inflate when it's fresh out of the packaging.Â
In general we would say that it is normal for a mat to take anything from 1-3 days to fully inflate the first time, just because they are usually rolled so tight straight from the factory.Â
I would recommend inflating a couple of days a trip, and storing it inflated if possilbe as that will be the best way to make sure it will be at full capacity before use.Â
I see in the description that it's perfect for the stretcher bed but we are looking for mats for the ground. Would this insulate enough from the cold ground and be robust enough for family of 5 (with small kids?) we have just bought the turbo 240 plus so could we fit a double and 3 singles in it?
Hello Katie. This will be comfortable for floor use, however the manufacturer does not give an insulation rating (R value) for this mattress so I don't think this would be great for cold floor conditions. Ideally a blanket on top of the mattress will increase the insulation between you and the ground.Â
With regards to fitting three singles and a double mattress into your Turbo 240 Plus, they should fit side by side but not a lot of room to spare.
