The Twilight Bivy from Black Diamond is the perfect emergency shelter that will help shield you from muddy or wet conditions when your tent fails you. Not just handy in a crazy downpour, the Twilight is perfect for staunch minimalists who’ll get a kick out of the Twilight’s miniscule weight and pack size.
To look at it, you wouldn’t think that this thing would keep you dry, but the Twilight is constructed from single layer fabric that is breathable and water-resistant. With a zippered entry at shoulder height, you can get in and out of your bivy with ease. The mesh panel at head height will also give you the airflow you need and condensation from building up in your shelter.
The four-season rating on this shelter means that you can use it all year round in a whole range of different weather conditions. For a lightweight and multipurpose shelter option, the Black Diamond Twilight Bivy is the perfect insurance.

If there enough padding with the bivy and sleeping bag or would you recommend placing a mat inside?
G'day Alisha,
This is a bit of a tough one to answer. Some people would be fine with just the Black Diamond Twilight Bivy but if it does feel a little like your laying on the ground. If you want a bit of extra comfort, then a mattress definitely wouldn't go astray.
Does this bivy sit flat or rest on your face? How is it propped up? Also what are the dimensions when it is packed up?
G'day Sadie,
The Black Diamond Twilight Bivy will rest on your face. You can elevate it off your face by tying a rope to tabs along the zip which can then be tied up to a tree (or similar) above. It's packed size is 8 x 13 cm.
