This hardwearing and quick pitch Turbo Plus 240 tent from Black Wolf is the perfect model for families who need the extra living space when they’re on tour.
This newly updated range has tape sealed seams where the floor and tent wall meet, and the fly has wider corners to guard against water leakage. The siliconised polyester floor is easy to roll which makes this tent even simpler to set up and more importantly - pack up. And with extra reinforcing along the roof poles, your turbo will have added sturdiness in windy conditions.
The three-pole awning can be turned into an extended living area with optional panels, or it can be sectioned off with an optional screen room for a fully enclosed space. The PVC storm flaps at the bottom of the optional front and side panels will help keep your awning dry in wet weather, and the zips and Velcro on the panels attach to the fly to allow for tape sealing for added water protection.
The Turbo Plus 240 is great for bigger groups on the move, as it’s spacious and it can be divided by a curtain into two rooms or left open for one big room. The Turbo range from Black Wolf is a timeless design that’s durable and easy to use – so it will see you through many outdoor adventures.

G'day Richard,
No, it doesn't. This tent has a 5000mm waterhead rating, and is fully seam-sealed. Hope that helps!

Keep the plus room folded1 answer
Is it possible for say a short night to keep the extra room folded up and connected when not needed?
Nicholas - Winmalee, NSW(1 year ago)
G'day Nicholas,
The Tent would need to be fully set up as it would lose its structure at the back and the fly wouldn't attach properly. It would be best to have it set up to provide enough support for the fly and the tent in the weather.

How would an average height single lady manage this tent on her own? 1 answer
Just wondering how an average height single lady would manage to put this tent up by myself. I camp by myself. I have put up the instant 240 sized tents like coleman before no issues by myself, but mine is broken, so just wondering how much harder and more time consuming this would be, as I am wanting a sturdier and more rain/weatherproof tent. I would prefer the extra space the turbo pluses offer when camping for a few days as well. Would I be better off getting the lite version of this tent instead of this heavier canvas one? I'd want a reliable sturdy, dry tent for the prices of the Blackwolf tents. I'd only be buying one once, so want to make the right choice. I drive a sub compact car, which would need to fit all my camping gear in it. Thanks

G'day Kyles,
The Turbo Plus 240 Tent is able to be set up by one person, however, it might be a little overkill for one person. The Turbo Lite version will likely be a little easier to handle as it is lighter and a little more compact. I would probably steer toward a Turbo Lite 240, or a Turbo Lite 240 Plus.

Any way to use this tent without the awning if the weather really bad and you don't wanna risk it? 1 answer
Can this tent fly be set up in any way without using the front as an awning, in case you want a quicker tent set up or in case of super terrible weather (I live in a fairly windy place) and I would be setting this tent up by myself most likely.
Kyles - 3280(6 years ago)
G'day Kyles,
The front awning on the Turbo Plus 240 Tent is part of the fly so it must always be set up to provide structural integrity and support. There is a Touring Camp Fly available for the Turbo 240 or 300, but they're not compatible with the Plus versions unfortunately

Seperating to reduce weight2 answers
I need a new tent for myself and two young kids, I have a blackwolf Mojave HV4, but it takes way too long to set up by myself. I was looking at the turbo 300 or oztent Oxley 5 but this (or the turbo 300 plus or Oxley 7) looks like it has
more space and will be a bit more future proof. However, 32kgs is too heavy for me to lift. Any idea how much it would weigh if seperated? I.e. awning poles and fly seperate. Also the Oxley 7 doesn't look like separating it will help much given the awning is part of the main tent and the fly is polyester, is that right?
Jodie - Petrie(6 years ago)
G'day Jodie,
Thanks for the question. It's one we've not been asked before so I've tasked Black Wolf with finding our for me as I can't get my hands on one currently. I'll update this answer as soon as I hear back from them. Unfortunately, I'm not 100% sure when that will be but fingers crossed they get back to me soon. Your spot on with the Oxley, removing the fly won't reduce the total weight by a huge amount. The only other suggestion I can come up with is looking at something like the Zempire Tent Trolley to make getting them around the campsite easier. This doesn't help with loading and unloading it obviously.

G'day Jodie,
Ok, Black Wolf have phoned me back and let me know the rain fly on the Turbo Plus 240 weighs 8kg. Hopefully, that's enough to bring it down to a manageable weight for you.

Pegs required1 answer
I haven't used my tent for quite a while and am wondering if I have the correct number of pegs. Are you able to tell me how many pegs are required to set this tent up?
Emmy - Winslow(6 years ago)
G'day Emmy,
You could use up to 16 pegs with a Black Wolf Turbo 240 Plus if you have all the guy ropes and window gussets pegged out. You'll get away with less if all you want to do is get it standing up for the night but it's always worth having a few spares in the car just in case.

Performance in the wind 2 answers
How do these tents perform in the wind the awning looks like a huge parachute. We’re I normally camp can get wind to 60-70kmh I need something that is bullet proof I don’t want to spend this much and worry about it tearing and braking poles.
Stuart owen - Balnarring (6 years ago)
G'day Stuart,
Whilst no tent comes with any sort of 100% guarantee against winds, I've got a good friend that owns a Black Wolf Turbo Plus 240 Tent and is stoked with how it performs for him. As long as you guy rope out your tent properly, then it will perform as well as any other tent on the market when the wind picks up. The 25mm aluminium poles are quite thick and strong as well, which is an added bonus!

We have this tent and took it camping one weekend and copped Gail force winds. We had the side panels on the awning, but the tent held up like a champ. No tears, no bent poles..: well made by Blackwolf :)
