The Turbo Lite 300 has all the fantastic features of the classic turbo range, but with a lighter and more portable construction - so it’s perfect for short getaways. The Black Wolf Turbo range is built for tough Aussie conditions, so they’re equipped to keep up with an active outdoors lifestyle.
This newly updated range has tape sealed seams where the floor and tent wall meet, and the fly has wider corners to guard against water leakage. In windy conditions, the extra reinforcing along the roof poles, and the stronger mesh on the windows and doors will add to the robustness of this tent.
The three-pole awning can be turned into an extended living area with optional panels, or it can be sectioned off with an optional screen room for a fully enclosed space. The added PVC storm flaps at the bottom of the optional front and side panels will help keep your awning dry in wet weather, and the zips and Velcro on the panels attach to the fly to allow for tape sealing for added water protection.
The Turbo Lite 300 is the perfect shelter for a group or family that is partial to a weekend trip.
3 pole awning

Reinforcing on the inside of the fly for durability
Hello, what can you recommend would be a good ground sheet that would cover from the back of the tent all the way to the front of the awning?

G'day Rob,
We recommend the Black Wolf Turbo groundsheet in the 300 size - you can find the link to these in the You Might Also Like section on the product page. Hope that helps!

Oztrail Ultramesh Tarp1 answer
Hi Snowy's What size ground sheet would fit the 300 from Oztrail? https://www.snowys.com.au/ultramesh-tarp I was thinking 10x20ft (3.05x6.10) What are your thoughts?
Paul - Perth, WA(3 years ago)
G'day Paul,
The best size Ultramesh Tarp for the Turbo Lite 300 is the 3.05 x 4.88m size. This will cover underneath the tent and the front awning area.

Ropes1 answer
Should I upgrade ropes with spring ropes?
Paul - Perth, WA(3 years ago)
G'day Paul,
You don't need to upgrade the ropes, as the Turbo ones are perfectly fine, but if you are planning on camping in windy weather some trace springs would be a great idea! You can find them here, they just attach to your existing guy ropes.

Weatherproof1 answer
Might be a silly question but is this more weatherproof and durable then the Coleman Instant Up 6P Lighted Northstar Darkroom Tent? looking at camping during this winter with my 4 year old daughter and really want to make the right choice.

G'day Joshua,
It's not a silly question at all. Technically speaking the Coleman tent has a higher Waterhead rating on the fly fabric, so should do a better job of keeping you dry. In terms of durability, the Black Wolf tent has a heavier duty frame, with high-quality componentry, so it should give you a better overall lifetime.

Water pooling1 answer
Hey Snowys Team, I absolutely love love this tent. I’ve now used it 3 times and feel like I’m a pro at setting this up really quickly thanks to your videos. The only thing I keep having an issue with is water pooling on the awning and it’s even worse when I have the side walls on. I’ve spent a considerable time readjusting poles etc once it’s started raining but nothing seems to help. Any suggestions or thoughts would be awesome. Our next trip is for Easter and we’re bound to have rain again and I’m worried about the awning part collapsing under the weight. Thanks

G'day Louise,
Sorry to hear you've been having some trouble with water pooling on your awning. Generally, we'd recommend adjusting the poles and guy rope tension on all areas of the fly to try and reduce water-pooling. It sounds like you may have already done this, but it might be worth checking the tension on the guy ropes on the front edges where the tent body meets the awning, as they'll help to create more tension on the fabric and reduce pooling. Pegging out your sidewalls should also help to increase tension and reduce water pooling. Hopefully, some of these tips will help for the next trip.

How do these compare with the Oztent Oakley lite tent.1 answer
How do these compare in material used, build quality and the quality/strength of the frame. Many thanks.. oscar

G'day Oscar,
Great question, the Black Wolf Turbo Lite 300 and Oxley Lite range of tents have some similar features but are a little different. The Black Wolf Turbo tents have a locking hub system that makes them super easy to put up and down. The Oxley have a semi-locking hub system, which makes them a tiny bit trickier to set up (check out our videos on both for more details). The Black Wolf has a large fly system with the ability to integrate panels and screen rooms whereas the Oxley just has one option for a wall panel system. The waterproofing on the floor is much higher on the Black Wolf Turbo tents and they come with a limited lifetime warranty so if I was making the choice it would be the Black Wolf, but both tents are great options.
